Zócalo Midtown has that vibrant energy the moment you walk in. I stopped by for dinner and the place was buzzing with people, margaritas, and colorful plates coming out of the kitchen. The Mexican dishes were bold and flavorful, and the atmosphere felt lively without being overwhelming. It’s a fun spot when you want good food and a little downtown excitement.

Zócalo in downtown Sacramento is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants in the city. The food is absolutely outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. Every dish we tried was full of authentic taste and beautifully presented. The margaritas are some of the best I’ve had anywhere.
The atmosphere is vibrant, stylish, and welcoming, making it a perfect place for dinner with family or friends. What really stands out is the excellent service—friendly, attentive, and professional.
If you’re in Sacramento and want amazing Mexican food with a great dining experience, Zócalo is a must-visit. Highly recommended! 🌮🍹🔥

My family and I had lunch this afternoon and I'm sorry to say that we were very disappointment with the food we ordered. Some of us ordered the burrito norteno and it was not good at all. It had no flavor and it was bland! My wife had another plate which is included rice and black beans and both items had no flavor and very bland. I'm sorry but we're used to eating real traditional mexican food and the place disappointed us. I would not recommend it at all. Plus the food is pricey compared to other mexican restaurants that we've visited in Sacramento and cities and towns up north.
On the plus side, the service was good and the ambience was also very good.

One of my fav places to come have a bite or even drinks. I love the seating area outside - especially in this beautiful weather.
I love their chilaquiles and mole enchiladas and the salsa & chips so refreshing!

We went to celebrate my birthday.Luckily it was ordinary day, no crowd, parking was easy. We had shrimp ceviche for appetizer plus the chips and salsa were so good. Everything we ordered were delicious. Service was excellent !They even sang happy birthday and gave me complimentary ice cream and churros. I would definitely recommend this place.

The food and drinks were great, and they have a large menu so I'll have to go back to try more things! The atmosphere is really cool and the service was excellent for our large party.

I came here for a solo date night with myself and couldn't have asked for better hospitality. The food was impeccable, the drinks were delicious, and the company of the bartender was so genuine. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town!

For desert we had the flan, which was amazingly sweet and nice to eat, and the churros, which were honestly a disappointment. The churros came with ice cream, so I assume they weren't so heated as to melt it, but it's something I usually like to eat hot.
The place is also surprisingly cheap too. We'll worth the price

Very good food, from the Chili Rellano with its crunchy crust to the light flaky Fish Tacos to the rich gravy and tender Chili Colorado! Mmm, mmm, mmm. I highly recommend getting there for Happy Hour as margarita price$ are double afterward$. The service was top notch! Bring plenty of $$$.
