Such an amazing winery!
The location is beautiful and the wine tasting was perfect. We will definitely come back!
We got to visit in August and it was incredible!!! Everything from the drive up the mountain, the views, the hospitality and the WINES!! We visited without the intention of joining the club, but the experience changed our minds! It was truly a must do when you're in Napa!
Can not say enough good things about our experience at Chappellet! My wife and I recently stopped by on a trip to Napa and can say with ease that this hands down the best winery we've ever been to. So much so, that they'll be the first winery we pick up a membership for. Can't wait for our first shipment to arrive...after a fantastic trip and plenty of other highlights, Chappellet was all we were talking about on the plane ride home! :)
My experience at Chappellet was unforgettable. Mason was incredibly knowledgeable, and even though our tour was scheduled for 90 minutes, we ended up staying for nearly two hours, enjoying great conversation and sampling the absolutely amazing wines. Chappellet stood out as the highlight among all the wineries we visited (and we visited some good ones). We’re now lifelong fans and can’t wait to open our bottles at home!
Our favorite winery in Napa. Have been a member for a decade. The wine ambassador, Justin, was the best. In addition to their flagship Cabs, I enjoy their whites including their Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay. All their estate wines are great.
Chappellet Winery is a rare gem in Napa Valley located on Pritchard Hill perched overlooking Lake Hennessey. I call this winery the Cathedral of Wineries and when you visit you will know. There's a patina and a vintage feel of this place that take you back to the 1960s when the story began. The Matriarch Molly Pritchard still lives on the property at 93 and is quite the force of nature. A personal favorite and what we began our tasting with was the Grower Collection Chardonnay, Sangiacomo Vineyard. This Chardonnay was absolutely delicious! Do yourself a favor and take a visit and tour of Chappellet. You will not be disappointed!
Absolutely an amazing experience and overall impressive operation. Their wines are made with the most incredible attention to detail for quality and a taste that is unmatched. The facility is not only stunning but designed to embody the highest in mid-century architectural pillars– the belief that structures should not obstruct their natural surroundings and instead be integrated with nature, and this place IS that. The grounds are something to marvel and perhaps some of the best views in all of Napa or Sonoma. You cannot miss this stop on your visit to wine country! I already loved their wine but fell in love a little deeper with their history, story and sincere desire to produce beautiful wines with integrity. Thank you, Javier, for the super fun and knowledge-filled experience!
This is such a picturesque winery in Napa Valley. It is worth the windy drive. Chappellet Winery is rich in history, founded in 1967 by Donn and Molly Chappellet, this family-owned winery has carved a niche for itself by its unique location on Pritchard Hill. Donn and Molly Chappellet were pioneers in recognizing the potential of hillside vineyards in Napa Valley.
How is this spot different? Chappellet has a challenging terrain. Situated at altitudes ranging from 800 to 1,800 feet, the grapes face a daily struggle against the elements. The steep, rocky slopes and well-drained, volcanic soils create an environment where vines must work harder. You might think the struggle would hurt the grapes. However, this struggle is precisely what gives the grapes their complexity. At these elevations, the vines experience greater exposure to sunlight and cooler temperatures, leading to a slower ripening process. Amazing! I’ll say this…. I bought a case.
incredible experience
If we could give 10 stars, we would! We have been to quite a few fine wine tastings over the years, and none have even come close to our experience at Chappellet. In addition to the wine being exceptional, this was an incredibly personable, informative, and absolutely fun experience for us! Last but not least - look for Derek!! He made the entire experience extra special. The winery is lucky to have him!

The wine, people and location/scenery are 2nd to none.
Words could not do justice to the incredible time my husband and I had at Chappellet. Not only are all of their wines absolutely outstanding, but the people working there make you feel like family. Justin was the most incredible tour guide, he had us laughing the entire time as we learned about the different varietals and history of the estate. We met Alexa and her beautiful horses & dog, and she continued to make the visit so meaningful. Our trip would not have been the same without stopping at Chappellet, and I cannot wait to go back.
Had a lovely and intimate experience this past weekend at Chappellet. I was initially on the waitlist but a space opened up and I was contacted. The property is stunning, upon a hilltop with expansive views of the vineyards. The guide (Javier) was very knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging - even sitting down to share a glass with me at the end of the tour. One of the founders' daughters even popped by while I was tasting and introduced herself, making me feel truly at home. The wine of course is extravagant. A must-do for anyone visiting Napa.
We still have a couple wine tours left for our trip in Napa, but this was by far our favorite one. I'm definitely coming back, and I'll update my review with details when I sober up!
I booked a Signature Cabernet Retrospective. We had a great tour of the property, Javier was really knowledgeable about the history of the place and the wine. Expensive, but it was worth the price. Only negative is we were served chenin blanc as a welcome glass and I can’t find it anywhere near me and it was a stunning expression of the grape.
