Went there with a group of six and it was absolutely fabulous. One of the best meals of my life! Must order the seafood tower. The homemade bread, steak, olives, dessert all divine. Atmosphere was cool, not fussy, beautiful. Fantastic service and help with wine! Truly memorable, thank you!

Sooooo PAINFULLY loud! Sometimes food is worth it … not here! Surrounded in an area of amazing restaurants farm to table freshness, chefs extraordinaire- this experience was a disappointment. This experience was mostly based on atmosphere since we all have a choice figured I’d give you all a heads up for those mindful.

Lovely time. Came for Cindy’s Campfire Pie, ended up loving everything. The tomahawk was a tad pricey, $175 without substantial included sides (albeit for 2-3 people, so not astronomical). That said, it’s a tomahawk and it was well executed and delicious. Dungeness Crab Mafaldine was to die for, especially if you like a caper sauce. Salad was crisp and delicious with beautiful, bright herb garnishes. Cab Franc by the glass was fantastic. For St. Helena, reasonable prices for a great meal. Some reviews have mentioned the volume—it was indeed a smidge too loud, even for me, but to me that’s a matter of atmospheric preference and not design quality. Will definitely be back soon to try more of the seafood!

It wasn’t anyone’s specific fault but this was one of the worst dinners we’ve had. The service was very slow (half our family is European so we like a long meal). When we asked about the service time we were told they don’t serve food unless everyone is seated. This makes sense but my wife had stepped outside because it was so hot and we had been waiting so long for our food. They then reheated the same food, took way too long to deliver it and generally ignored us. They still asked if we wanted dessert or coffee despite the fact we had been there for 2.5+ hours at that point and wanted to leave. It will be great for most but it was a terrible experience for us. ($400+ spent on wine)

-The staff members were polite and attentive, without being overbearing.-The environment was sleek and classy.-The food was clearly well-made, although not something I'd write home about-The Flatbread offered created a highly unpleasant burning sensation in my throat.-The prices were somewhat offensive, considering the portions and that the food was not all that memorable-Referred to (likely) beef deckle as wagyu beef, they are NOT the same thing.-Only one, single-person restroom.-Tables were "reservation only" so we were forced to sit at the bar. There were plenty of unused tables, I'd wager the majority.-The bar seats were hard and wooden, without much accommodation in the way of a foot rest. I was so cramped that I couldn't really use a utensil in my main arm without hitting the person next to me.

Been twice, had their chicken which is so good but this time we tried dishes and they are also amazing. Everything we had was flavorful. Service was exceptional despite how busy they were. The risotto and roasted acorn were our favorite dishes. Tip: Bring your own wine or order their delicious cocktails. Their wine by the glass pours are a little stingy.

My fiancée Kelly and I celebrated our engagement at Charlie's, and we could not have made a better choice! The service was incredible from the moment we were greeted by the hosts with glasses of sparkling wine. Our server, Ben, was wonderful and made our experience so special. The atmosphere is charming and our food was excellent. Definitely recommend!

Enjoyed everything about Charlie’s. We started with the gem salad. I had the wagyu beef and my wife had the half beer can chicken. So good! Great wine list and the service was outstanding. We will be back to try the fried chicken and spiny lobster - the couple next to us ordered those dishes and they looked amazing. The restaurant is on the loud side as far a noise volume but that didn’t bother us. The food and service were worth it.

Definitely a hopping restaurant for a Thursday evening. No tables were available so we sat at the bar. Full of locals so conversation was easy. Started with the Gem salad and abalone. Salad was fantastic. Abalone was just OK. We couldn't taste the actual protein and the preparation could have been more tender. Per the bartender, they get these from Santa Barbara which are grown in a tank. There is a more local sustainable abalone company in Monterey whose product is raised in a natural environment at the commercial wharf (Monterey Abalone Company). Superb product sold there! For dinner we ordered the spiny lobster, wagyu, and fried chicken. The chicken was stellar. Moist. Crunchy. Super flavorful. Add the gem salad and you have a great meal. Spiny lobster was good. The sweet meat was a little lost with the sauce. But the sauce was separate so easy to adjust this. The wagyu was the disappointment. It was chewy (ordered medium rare) and not super flavorful. This one was a bummer. Other than that, good meal. Wait staff and bartenders were on it. Couldn't have asked for more from them.

Fried chicken is some of the best I've ever had. Lovely ambiance, separated dining areas including what looks like a beautiful private room upstairs. Flat bread was delicious, pretzel kielbasa was smaller than expected and underwhelming. Campari sour made with pomelos from their yard.

The food was great! We tried the fried chicken, wagyu, and malfadini pasta and they were all delicious. All the servers did a great job as they were very helpful and attentive. We had the chance to meet Elliot Bell and he was friendly. My wife and I had a great dining experience and would definitely go back.
