I recently had a great experience at Duckhorn Winery. I’m not much of a wine drinker myself, but my wife is, so I usually tag along to tastings. We booked the “Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting” online, and when we arrived, we were greeted by the beautiful setting — a charming house surrounded by lush greenery.
We were met by Miguel, our wine specialist, who made the whole experience truly enjoyable. He was easygoing, knowledgeable, and made someone like me, who knows very little about wine, feel completely at ease. Miguel not only paired the wines with food perfectly but also shared the history and origins of each bottle, making it feel like we were taking a journey through Napa Valley.
He even gave us some excellent recommendations for local restaurants, which was a thoughtful touch. Overall, Duckhorn Winery offers beautiful scenery, excellent wine, and exceptional customer service. I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Napa!
We went to Duckhorn after trying couple bottles from them sold in total wine, and we liked them a lot. It was such a bummer that we had very bad experience visiting the vineyard.
To start with, no one was at the reception desk when we got there, and we have to wait for like 5 minutes. I guess they were busy, so did not say anything.
Then we were seated under direct sunlight, despite there were couple seats available in the shade. It was over 85 in Napa Valley that day, and we were sweating...
The worst part was with our host, Chris, who did not welcome us, or showed any interests talking with us the whole time. He basically poured us 4 glasses, recited 2-3 sentences that he memorized of the tasting notes for each wine, and left. In total he spent less than 5 minutes with us during our visit. He was more chatty serving a few other tables around us, not sure why we got treated differently.
As for the wine, we did not like it either. We usually like full body cabernet sauvignon, but the one we got was on the lighter, sour end, not much after taste either. Merlot was ok, but priced ridiculously high.
We were thinking of getting a wine club membership before we came to the vineyard, only to left with no bottles, no membership, nothing much but regret.
We'd never come back again.
Thomas did such a great job as our host.
Our best experience due to excellence in service, atmosphere and generous pours. Our host was very knowledgeable in pairings, flavor combinations and discriminations. Very essential for trying 9 new reds with an array of several new cheeses, nuts, meats and berries.
Great experience! We learned so much through Adrian's fantastic storytelling. Oh, and the wine was amazing, too!
Delightful, straightforward, wine tasting experience. Stunning property, beautiful building. Our charcuterie was a delightful pairing to the wine flight. Our Somalia Chris was fantastic, engaging informed, low pressure, and had us out the door with everything we wanted. can’t wait to come back from Texas for another visit. Also, so glad we were able to pick up a wine suitcase. looking forward to the wine club membership deliveries.
Chris shared the history of the winery and a plethora of details about the winery itself. He was fantastic with our wine tasting, etc!!! We loved this experience! Above expectations!! Thank you Chris and Duckhorn!! Chris was informative, personal and ,professional!! A true asset!!
Wonderful wines in a pleasant setting. Our host, Christie, was friendly and helpful and the weather was surprisingly cool for the time of year. All in all, a great experience.
Christine was great in educating us about the wines and the valley. So knowledgeable! . Loved the side by side comparison of a cab that was grown in 2 different areas of the valley
Great wines
Miguel and Taylor were excellent hosts! We absolutely loved our visit here. The customer service, hospitality, and knowledge from all of the staff we interacted with was impressive. The quaint and historical house was the best surprise. With such a big name in the wine game we were expecting a modern, opulent building and staff. To our surprise, it was quite the opposite. The grounds and house are stunning and of course we had an excellent wine tasting! We were camping so to be welcomed with such friendly staff made the experience a special one. I can't wait to return with more friends and family!

Wine was delicious and the presentation of the venue and tasting was lovely.
My mom and husband and I thoroughly enjoyed Duckhorn. Luis was amazing, gave us the best recommendations and he truly made us feel at home (even gave us a pop quiz at the end) We all learned so much and the vineyard is just stunning.
Had a wonderful time visiting in mid march. The air was crisp and the wine was wonderful! Highly recommend!
We had such a lovely time - our host Miguel was fantastic! It was great to hear about Duckhorn’s different vineyards and history and was a really casual and authentic conversation. The setting was gorgeous too, we would definitely return! P.s., I was obsessed with the espresso cheddar!!!
Great Merlot and Cabernet wines. Friendly, informative waitstaff. Beautiful tasting room and surroundings. A perfect afternoon in the Napa Valley
