We loved dining at Gatehouse! Incredible value, outstanding service, high-end food, all delivered by students. Our server, James, and the rest of the crew were graduating the next, and it didn't affect their performance. HIGHLY recommend making a reservation here, if you can get one!

It's always great to support CIA. I food is not only delicious, the presentation is superb. I love coming here & like the simplicity of the menu & well curated dishes. The herbs are from the garden & the salads are just as divine. The staff are so nice & you won't be disappointed.

Lovely experience here! Our first time at Gatehouse after many missed opportunities. Staff was engaging and we enjoyed talking with the students. Food and wine pairing were on par and delicious. Setting and overall experience was a highlight of our trip to the Napa Valley area. We will be back!

Good food, well prepared, well presented. The wait staff are all students at the cooking school it is apparent they are not seasoned wait staff but other than some awkwardness they have done a good job. We have been here several times and will continue to come back. We always get the wine pairings because they really compliment the food and wine and it is quite enjoyable to experience the interactions in flavors.

We were genuinely excited to dine at Gatehouse Restaurant for our first visit and made a reservation before making the 1.5-hour drive from San Francisco to Napa. The restaurant, housed in its own charming building apart from the main facility, immediately impressed us. Although we were momentarily unsure about the entrance, our warm welcome from the host set a wonderful tone. As a classroom for graduate students, the establishment offers an inspired three- or four-course menu and a thoughtfully curated wine list, which added a unique and meaningful touch to our experience. The dining area may be modest in size, but it radiates understated elegance with its beautiful table settings. Our attentive student server took and confirmed our order with genuine care, making us feel truly valued as guests. The menu featured a range of tempting options, each sounding more delightful than the last. We chose the Strawberry, Spinach & Burrata Salad, Smoked Lamb Carpaccio, Pancetta-wrapped Quail, Pan-fried Ricotta Gnudi, Crispy Skin Arctic Char, American Wagyu Flank Steak, and Strawberry Cake. While the Ricotta Gnudi was simply average, every other dish absolutely exceeded expectations—bursting with creativity and rich flavors. Though portions are not overly large, they were just right to leave us perfectly content and eager for dessert. Overall, our experience at Gatehouse Restaurant was nothing short of outstanding. Every detail, from the welcoming staff to the exceptional cuisine, made for an unforgettable meal. We wholeheartedly recommend Gatehouse Restaurant and look forward to returning soon.

Totally sad and disappointed as our last experience there was in the Graystone building which we totally loved and part of the reason we wanted to go back again and again. The ambiance was SO special! Plus the food was usually spectacular! This new location was really unremarkable and, on top of that, the food was mediocre. We used to love it there! Very sad to say we won't go back. The new location has zero ambiance and is nothing special. Ours hearts are broken.
