Our meal at Meadowood was comically bad.My wife is allergic to fin fish -- fish with a backbone. I explained this when making the reservation, and was told the kitchen would be happy to accommodate. When we arrived for dinner, the staff had no knowledge of this information, so we went over it again. Our server explained during the fish course, my wife would receive a "share plate." That confused us, so we asked what the "share plate" was."Well, since you can't eat fish, during the fish course you'll get a share plate.""Yes, but what's on this 'share plate'?" we pressed.Clearly uncomfortable, our server clarified, "Oh, it's just an empty plate. Because she can't eat what's being served."It seemed ridiculous that at a three-star restaurant, after being told they'd be happy to accommodate this allergy, we learn that the way they accommodate the allergy is just to serve an empty plate. What's even more ridiculous, however, is that on the subsequent chicken course, they served my wife and then spooned a sauce all over the chicken, and then explained it was an anchovy-based sauce. They almost poisoned my wife and we avoided a trip to the hospital only because we keenly paid attention to what they were saying as they served us. Quickly, the chicken was removed, and out came the share plate.I have to wonder, why is it called a "share plate"? If they're not going to serve my wife any food, and she's allergic to what's served to the other guests, what sort of sharing do they anticipate?!The service was untrained in other ways less likely to cause a visit to the hospital. For example, at a three-star restaurant, I don't expect to have to help the staff clear the table after each course. It was interesting, though, when I was explicitly asked to pass down plates to other guests or pick up used utensils, so that the staff doesn't have to walk the full length of the table.I wrote a letter to the restaurant director about this experience. Never heard back.

Amazing fine dining. Honestly one of the best experiences you’ll thoroughly enjoy when it comes to all of the small details. Can’t wait for this place to come back!

I truly enjoyed the atmosphere on the 3 path bar tasting and wish to go back for dinner in the eating room in the future. The bar become quite exciting thinking about that it's far a three Michelin big name eating place. I actually desired to like this experience however it changed into marred with the aid of one in all our pals who wanted to drink wine which was quite accurate, but the cocktails appeared a long way more exciting as there had been many handmade flavored liquors in evidence and the barkeep became very informed. I did enjoy the meals, but again hypercritical feedback marred this issue as properly. splendid service and high-quality memoir meals gift on the stop. hope to go back inside the destiny.

We did the 10 course tasting menu in the kitchen at the Restaurant at Meadowood. One of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had -just perfection.

Love the experience here! Creative dishes that are really too pretty to eat. Excellent customer service! My husband and I celebrated our 40th birthdays here and it was an unforgettable experience. Support this business once they are up and running again! I think the Napa fire has affected them immensely.

Love this place! Tri Tip Tuesday and especially Taco Thursday! Pastrami and French Dip sandwiches are amazing, too. In the before times, the patio seating was a nice experience with plenty of shade and even heaters.

We like a lot hanging out. Yesterday we arrived in this delicious restaurant which we didn’t know before. We enjoyed a lovely evening there with great food and a professional crew and a great cook. We added this restaurant in our list and we shall surely visit again soon. We highly recommend.

After dining here during the Twelve Days of Christmas 2019 event, I was completely blown away by near everything. From the valet, to the warm welcome on a cold rainy night, to the exquisite drinks in the bar at the front, to the contemporary modern design, it felt like every detail was accounted for. As a designer and photographer myself, I found it difficult to see sometimes due to the extremely high contrast in lighting from the floor to the ceiling, and some of the guests dining with us even had to ask a waiter to hold a flashlight for them. Personally, the ambience throughout was perfect for a cold rainy night in late December. Given the notorious title of longest running 3-star Michelin restaurant in the world, one would have the highest of expectations leading into the night and would find it hard to complain about near anything. For the evening, our total bill came out to just over $2,000; a price tag those who have been lucky enough to score a reservation understand and fully acknowledge before visiting. Despite the already monstrous amount of money per person for the meal ($300/person) it would add another $300/person for the first level of wine pairings, which we all obliged in taking. Although it may seem a bit ridiculous to pay the same amount for 4-5 glasses of various alcoholic beverages as a large multi-course meal, it was truly, and I mean fantastically incredible. To have an experienced and certified sommelier care for the drink pairings from the first and second courses to the main courses all the way to dessert, it was absolutely worth the price tag. Not to forget the service, every person we interacted with at the restaurant was very professional and they all seemed to take care of every detail with ease. I suppose it happens to be a given at restaurants of this caliber, so I find it repetitive to talk about the training in relationship-making these hard-working people have gone through for years. If we were to be a bit picky, it seemed as though you could have no choice on water selection as we requested Evian and was told it was not available. Additionally, the consommé brought out seemed to be lukewarm despite its incredible presentation and arrangement. And to be fair to the guests I had brought with me, the lighting was a bit dark and was hard to make out which server was ours. Overall, TRAM was a once in a lifetime opportunity and if they can rebuild around their community and grow even further than before after this heartbreaking tragedy, I would give my highest of recommendations to visit here when it reopens.

Oh no! The Restaurant at Meadowood burned down in the Glass Fire! I was very fortunate to visit here before the pandemic and had not had a chance to commend the innovative food and attentive service. I hope they rebuild and reopen soon.

We were among the few people who had the privilege to experience the outdoor dining post pandemic closure at Restaurant at Meadowood before the Glass Fire destroyed this amazing fine dining institution. Our prayers are with the team who will hopefully get the chance to rebuild this powerhouse of gastronomy in a truly unique and beautiful setting. The hopeful comparable is the fire that caused Manresa to rebuild a few years ago - we were there when they reopened and Chef Kinch immediately got his 3rd Michelin star. Every dish of our 10 plus course tasting menu was perfectly executed and tasted very good. The unexpected and surprising part of the meal was the beginning with a vegetable centric approach that had two breakout performances: the rye tostada “everything from the greenhouse” and the ceviche of green vegetables. I have to admit that I can be addicted to / overly focused on the usual fine dining proteins (salmon, various types of tuna, black cod, wagyu beef) and that vegetables do not very often win me over but the initial 5 dishes at Meadowood had the potential to turn me into a vegetarian or at least an out of the closet vegetable lover. Good luck to Chef Kostow and his team and thank you for a memorable meal. We will be back the moment you reopen!!

Saddened by the news this morning that the restaurant was burned down in the Glass fire, so even though it is rather meaningless at this moment, I wanted to leave a review from our meal there this month. We both left there in agreement that it was the best tasting menu we ever had. Those Michelin stars were all deserved! You could tell there was mastery behind each dish, with each ingredient carefully thought out as it was put together. The staff was fantastic and the outdoor environment made for a wonderful al fresco dining experience. Hoping everyone is safe and wishing them a future rebuild. We'll be first in line.

When I look back at the various Michelin starred restaurants I've been blessed enough to eat at over the years, the thing that will stand out to me about Meadowood was the uniqueness of their menu. When I read the other yelp reviews here and see the lower number of stars in some reviews to me that signals a bit of controversy and debate and it really amounts to how open you are to tasting something truly different. If you are that kind of person than Meadowood is a wonderful choice for you. From freshly picked vegetables brought to you raw to intricate and minor details that you have to really pay attention to to appreciate; Meadowood will provide you an experience unlike any other. Amongst any multi-course dinner there are going to be dishes you like and others that don't meet your taste prefernces. But I will say that the ones that standout here are absolutely some of the greatest dishes I've had anywhere in the world. The service was absolutely top notch and the location and beauty of the restaurant, grounds and all else can't be beat. Oh and if you are lucky enough you might get to tour the kitchen and hear them blaring NWA or Ice Cube as they work their magic. Seems like a fun environment.

My wife and I came to Meadowood for our anniversary. Our first night we ate at "The Restaurant". We enjoyed a multi-course meal with wine pairing that was outstanding! The small bites were imaginative and all from the restaurants own farm. I don't eat eggplant, but I did this particular night and it was fantastic. I didn't want to be inconsiderate to our dining partners. Wow! perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Clearly Chef Christopher Kostow is a talented chef. Eating at restaurants offering gastronomic fare can get tiring. Chef Kostow's farm to table fare is a wonderful change. Especially since the food is sooooo wonderfully prepared. The Koji souffle' was a perfect desert to close out the dining experience. Should you find yourself in the St. Helena area and want to have an outstanding meal at a world class location, dine at The Restaurant at Meadowood. Thank you chef Kostow.Service was first rate! The wait staff was attentive at the right moments without being invasive. Polite and professional in every manner. Each course was delivered with perfect timing and at a pace not to rush the evening. Due to Covid-19, our table was located to an outside venue in a private area with wall to wall lawn and an outdoor fireplace. The tables were more than adequately spaced allowing a feeling of safe environment and private conversation. Honestly, my wife and I enjoyed the outdoor dining more so than indoor. The service was “outstanding” and went well beyond expectations.
