Usually, this place is the bomb for sushi. On the latest visit a few days ago, the sushi was definitely not to par. The supposed spicy roll was bland, almost tasteless with no heat. Instead of the usual crisp texture, it was soggy, making it near impossible to eat using chop sticks. I'll probably go back to Arigato, but will be sure to point out to management if the quality is again not there. I'll consider this time a one off.

Worst food thumbs down. I ordered garlic edemame and they didn't use fresh garlic they used jarlic yuk! You just ruined the whole flavor bro. Sushi was although made to order, Not fresh. Then I asked flr some chillie oil and they needed to charge $1 more. Seriously u want you charge for chilli, unbelievable. Stars are for friendly service. Although I dont care for service Id rather have good food and some chille. Not an atmosphere id like. Sushi bar is closed and there are no chair there. Instead they have huge boxes underneath so its used as storage. (Cringe)

A small but very quaint little sushi bar. It is popular and it's probably one of the better restaurants in town related to Sushi.
I always have the teriyaki salmon and tempura plate. It is flaky and delicious. The wait staff keeps the drinks full. They check to see if you need anything. The atmosphere is really dark. Overall it is a nice place to eat.
Fun place to go with huge portions! Great recommendations from server when we asked for the most popular rolls that are served. We chose to try something new and it was a great experience.
good food reasonable prices, and friendly staff
Large portions! Good tasting portions! Worth the wait if there is one. Have gone too many times to count and have brought multiple different people to cone eat here. They loved it. See you soon!

Average sushi, but a great atmosphere to be in. Friendly staff and caring manager.
I think this is one of the best sushi places in Salinas!!! There rolls are huge and the price is great!!! It was packed the whole time we were there and a line out the door for the whole time we were there... I just wish it was a bigger place!!!
GREAT FOOD
GREAT SERVICE AND FRIENDLY
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
Hostess and Waitress were professional / sincere and food came out within 10 minutes. Table felt clean. Cleaning chemical smell at waiting area but not near our booth in the back.
Food:
Chicken teriyaki was nice and tender, thin parts were still edible and not rock hard.
Pan fried gyoza was good.
Sake nigiri tasted fresh and flavorful.
Tempura batter was a little on the hard side.
Cali roll jam packed with imitation crab, no cucumber. Subjective take, but not a fan.
Son ordered golden philly roll. He enjoyed it, but I dislike philly rolls and deepfrying it didnt help.
Other son ordered Green Dragon Roll. No eel, no cucumber, meh sauce on top, extra imitation crab. 🤮 Not a green dragon roll.
Apart from being another place thats stingy with their tentsuyu (tiny little black cup not nearly enough for the amount of tempura), the portion sizes were more than what you pay for lunch prices and its like the only Japanese restaurant nearby that doesnt close at 2pm. So, would probably go back if its in that time frame and really craving Japanese. Just gotta stay away from their version of green dragon roll (my favorite at almost every other Japanese restaurant). Maybe ask for extra tempura dipping sauce.
Best happy hour
The food was great we were attended fast but the odor of the restaurant was a little strong like urine and the tables were a little sticky. A employee walked into the restroom with an apron and dried his hands on it walking out instead of using some napkins or hand dryer. Other than that the food was great along with the service.
