Monterrey breakfast bagel sandwich was delicious 😋

Me and my wife were there about an hour ago, and it was honestly the worst service we’ve experienced there.

My wife kindly asked about a coffee that is usually sold out. The girl helping us said “no” with attitude. Moments later, she turned around and made that same drink for another customer who asked.

When we returned and asked again, she rolled her eyes at us. I told her directly:

“If I wasn’t paying for it, that would be a problem. But I am paying for it. And there’s no reason for eye rolls or attitude.”

Then she switched to Spanish assuming we wouldn’t understand. We are Puerto Rican. We speak Spanish. Hearing disrespect behind our backs, in our language, was unprofessional and ugly.

And when she finally made the drink—after all that? It was watered down.

At that point, it would’ve been better for her to simply be honest and have someone else make it—someone who understands basic respect and customer service.

This wasn’t just bad service.
This was disrespect.
This was discrimination hidden under attitude.

And I’m calling it out. Because behavior like that needs to be corrected—not ignored.

Hands down best bagels in Salinas! If I’m not mistaken, owned by the original Monterey County Bagel Bakery owners.. the New Yorker bagel sandwich is consistently fresh and good.

Wow, what a great find. I only tried it based on the reviews but it is a small place packed with flavor and options.

Pricing on the bagels is more reasonable than on the coast with a large selection of them along with a variety of specialty cream cheeses

I opted for a couple and was so pleased they were warm from the oven!

A variety of sandwiches, coffee drinks, and other options means I will be back next trip to the area.

The food is good, but I wish that they wrap the hot bagels into a different type of paper, because the paper sticks to the bagels and it's very hard to peel it off. I also wish that for eating inside they resume to provide the plastic baskets to eat the food from instead of just everything packing for take out. It's been like this since Covid-19. I'm glad that we can still eat inside though.

I like to pickup my bagels here. Strawberry chocolate chip bagels are delicious, but sometimes they run out so I choose their plain bagels.
Funny moment was when I told them my name is “Timmy.” I saw my receipt and I saw them put “Kijmy.” 😂

Blazin' Bagelz is a must-visit for bagel lovers! Their bagels are always fresh, perfectly chewy, and packed with flavor. The bagels are tasty, but they’re also the most expensive I’ve had. Service can be inconsistent—sometimes it’s quick and polite, other times slow and curt. If you’re on a budget, stick to just a bagel and a drink, as the add-ons quickly add up. While pricey, I recommend the transparency of their ONLINE ordering system, which shows exactly how costs stack up.

Parking: Parking is in the mall right in front of blazing bagels, there’s plenty of parking. Can be harder to find parking on weekends but I’ve never not found parking when visiting.

Wheelchair accessibility: Crowded, it’s best to not go in thru the door if you have a wheelchair, maybe order ahead and wait in the sitting area for the order to be called out

The two stars are because the actual food is good. If you're willing to overpay for incorrect orders, or to have your $30 worth of bagels rip through their paper bags and fall in the street, this is the place for you. Don't worry! They tell you they're sorry! That's about as far as it goes. I'm out at least $50 due to incorrect orders or the overstuffed bags that sustain the weight.

I had a create your own sandwich bagel. Super good. Variety of coffee, drinks, and they have ube cookies that I have to go back and try! Staff is super friendly. I created my bagel with lox, tomato, onion, and spinach I believe. Had a vanilla late for my husband. He liked his drink. This place has a variety of bagels for you to choose from. Even now they have a seasonal pumpkin.

Dietary restrictions: I have dietary restrictions and this place worked out if you have to have a low fat diet.
