I lived in Salinas many years ago, discovered Eva's Cafe by accident and was truly overwhelmed with the food. the atmosphere, and the service. So much so that I brought my friends at every opportunity. I left the area for about 15 years and upon my return, the first chance I got, returned to Eva's.
I was so pleased they were still there and again bring my friends over and over. I have traveled the world in my career and can say with honesty Eva's has the best Mexican food on the planet.

They have always open no lates by 7 on Sunday call to order menudo since usually if you don't call by 8:30 they are out of menudo lady that answer was very rude said we don't open until 8 two weeks later I call at 8:30 to order other ladies tells me you need call between 6:45-8 because it goes fast

Have you ever ridden in a train trolley where food is served? That is kind of the atmosphere at Eva's Cafe on Williams Rd. In Salinas. Now everything is more than worth it when u finally receive your food... ooooohh man, it is great to look at the dishes that are made from fresh Ingredients and very nice presentation. I've worked as an assistant manager, cook, dishwasher bus boy... and learn that a bad dish can be saved by good customer service and I agree... but u can mistreat me if you want as long as I can taste Eva's cuisine... if not the best restaurant in Salinas the food should be!!Order ANY dish and get ready to fall in love... Eva's will never dissapoint you!!!

Our 12:30 lunch experience was made more than just average by the brilliance of our servers smile. Her service was attentive whilst busy, warm yet professional with eyes that danced when she smiled. My sope and my Jamaica/Hibiscus drink were wonderful and I would recommend this menu to all. The atmosphere is welcoming and one should try to get seated at the bar. I will be back.
