Friendly servers; pleasant, high-ceilinged rooms with booths, murals, and ceiling fans. The food was delicious, served hot and surprisingly quickly. It was a tate Sunday brunch with no lines at 12:30...we were in and out in less than an hour with full tummies. Prices were decent, especially considering the enormous portion sizes!

Excellent service I got seated right away. I got helped right away and they made sure to pay close attention and give me anything I needed whenever I wanted it. I ordered the oatmeal with vegetarian sausage patties and it’s probably the best vegetarian sausage patties I’ve ever had in my life. The oatmeal was five stars for sure came with raisins and brown sugar and milk, which I didn’t use.
I also had a cup of coffee and water and both of them were premium sometimes coffee makes my stomach hurt, but not at this place.
The oatmeal was so good It didn’t need milk, plus people don’t realize how disgusting milk actually taste. The only reason why it taste good is because they load it with so much sugar. It’s more sugar than soda. I prefer oat milk for that reason it has a lot less sugar in it so much less you could drink chocolate oat milk and it still has half the sugar at regular cow milk has. However, plant-based milk is not an option here yet. Didn’t bother me a bit.

Been here a few times on my drive down south. Always great. And super excellent staff. Salinas has a nice downtown too. There's a really good coffee joint just down the block from first awakenings to grab an espresso for the road

This place has a great selection of breakfast and lunch for everyone. The staff is really friendly and polite. The restaurant itself is a little dated but the food is great and delicious. This place is a must. The parking can be challenging at times but that's when the parking garage down the street comes in handy.

As always, the food from First Awakenings is delicious. I've never had one complaint. What surprised me at this location was the service. Our server was nice but distracted. I also asked for two tea bags of the type I ordered and she gave me two, but didn't check to see if they were the same (I ordered English Breakfast and she gave me an English Breakfast and a Sleepytime. Both packages were blue). Maybe she was just having a funky day. I'm still giving five stars because overall, it was a good experience with a couple of minor things that weren't great.

Haven't been to downtown Salinas in several years. Nice to see this area has improved so much. This restaurant was nice food was great service was great. Great historic building. Would suggest that all restaurants provide a saucer w coffee cup just as you do when serving tea. I would also suggest you dust in the corners by the windows!! I do think prices have gone up It was over $25 for basic breakfast and coffee Maybe that's just CA pricing.
