We stopped by on a Saturday. They were easy to spot and there was plenty of parking in the back. There was only one customer ahead of us and the restaurant was not busy at all, much to our surprise. Although it’s been years, when this location was on E. Alisal it was always full.We ordered menudo and a Captain’s plate. The menudo however, had much to be desired. It was watery and even after adding all the condiments that we were brought; it lacked flavor. We were incredibly disappointed. It was not what we remembered. The Captain’s plate was very good.If we decide to come back it will be for the fish n chips. For menudo we will look elsewhereThey should stick to making the house special, (i.e fish n chips) if they are unable to find someone that can make a good menudo.Three stars for our server, who was very polite and attentive and for the Captain’s plate.
Great customer service, Felt welcome! Thank you
Very good fish & chips. Friendly waitress ? Downtown Salinas very well done up!
This is our “go-to” place for British style fish and chips. The food is tasty, prices are very reasonable, and the service is terrific. Now this is not a five-star Carmel restaurant with all the glitz and very high prices. This is a small friendly family run restaurant - enjoy!
Fresh. Piping hot and a good batter for fish and shrimp.Service was very friendly and they got me in the door with their churro sample at the food and wine festival.
Very good fish and chips will definitely be eating there again
April 2021. They're open for dine in at limited capacity, but I ordered take out. Fish and chips were still good when I got home and ate about 20 minutes later. Not only was it good, but you also get SO MUCH for the price. Definitely buying again.
Fried, fried, fried, fried. Plus Mexican food. Mostly seafood. The smell of fried seafood is inescapable. I had a chicken quesadilla. Not sure that was chicken. Might have been only dark meat. Not the place for you if seafood makes you gag and you don't really like Mexican food. I came with friends thinking a chicken quesadilla was a good default option. Nope. My friends enjoyed their fish and chips and tacos, though. The fries were tasty, I guess.
Awesome fish and chips. Honestly so good. It took a long time to come out, at least 25-30 minutes, for 3 meals but worth the wait. Double thumbs up for the cheladas to go
A fav place for delicious seafood. Food was so yummy. Looking forward to returning with my relatives. Feels like a cafe in Phoenix that I enjoyed visiting.
