I had the chilaquiles (green) and they were super good, not too spicy. Our server was really attentive and kind. The amount of time it took for them to bring out the food was SO QUICK. Will be trying more of their food again soon.

I'm in town visiting family. My sister wanted to go out for a Valentine's outing. She suggested a restaurant that I won't mention. Instead I made reservations at The Village. We Fettuccini Alfredo with Blackened shrimp. The Lobster Ravioli, & Seafood Monterey Combo player. You could taste how fresh everything was. Fresh, good quality food and reasonable prices, especially in to crazy economy. Skip the "franchise restaurants"' come here for higher quality food that wasn't previously frozen! The food is delicious. You're always greeted with a warm friendly smile. This place never misses!!!?

We waited for two weeks to get our Christmas eve meal from here. We were so excited to order in and have a relaxing night in and have breakfast for dinner…. We ordered the traditional eggs Benedict and the crab cake Benedict, what a huge disappointment. The eggs were hard boiled like to the point when I put my fork through it wouldn’t break the yolk at all…. The potatos we got were mashed practically they were so soggy and over cooked. Such a big difference than the first time we ordered. Well I called the restaurant to speak to the manager or owner a Spanish lady answered the phone and she barely spoke English on too for the fact that then when I asked her in Spanish if she was the person in charged she said yes….Wow. Anyway I told her the issues with the food and she just said ok… when I asked for the managers name she hung up on me. Nice way to be in-charged. Such a huge disappointment. We will not order from this place again…. Unfortunately because we had such a good experience the first time we ordered food from here we wanted to order again it honestly this place is not consistent and clearly management isn’t available. Thanks for ruining Christmas Eve meal for us. Never again.

This place has the most welcoming atmosphere ever! I highly recommend the food and the customer service experience. I can’t think of any other place in Salinas that has such welcoming energy and the owners greet you like if you are family.10 out of 10

I was waiting for my food longer than anticipated and started having a low blood sugar panic attack. They gave me my food for free. It was so very nice of them and appreciated. Thank you! Will go back again.

Love, love the food & service here. The fresh blueberry pancakes are delicious but cinnamon apple pancakes are my favorite. I also recommend the chilaquiles Verdes, they will not let you down.

My first clue should have been the empty restaurant. No booths; just several tables that seat four. Kinda on the cold side for a restaurant. Not cozy at all. The server was very kind and attentive. The only issue I had with him was he gave me raspberry sweetened tea when I asked for unsweetened. I think it was a language thing but I drink it anyway, no use in wasting it. My daughter and I got the seafood Monterey combo that includes mahi mahi, salmon and snapper in a lemon basil sauce. My husband got the maple soy skirt steak. When our food came to the table I could smell bad fish and I've got a cold and my right side is completely stuffed. My daughter confirmed my suspicion. The salmon was not rotten but I could tell it was a little on the old side but one of the white pieces of fish stunk to high heaven. The lemon basil sauce was great. Too bad it was masking bad fish. The pieces of fish were on the tiny side also. The cook definitely had to have known it was bad.The maple soy wasn't awful but the cut of meat was cheap and very stringy. Needless to say, we won't be returning. I had high hopes for this place too. Im sad about it.

The food has no flavor, it took 25 minutes to serve us and there were only 4 people in the place, including me, I also asked for napkins for me and my partner and they did not bring it to us, they have terrible service

I ordered something with meat because I did not read the menu correctly (my fault). They redid it without the meat so I could eat and it was delicious! So glad I went here! Thanks!

This place has the best biscuits and gravy I have ever had. Taste like pure butter and sausage. Best part is it's your neighborhood restaurant. The owners know who you are. I really love this place is because I saw the best act of kindness effort. I believe she is the wife and owner of the restaurant and there was a family with a special needs adult and she remembered his order but he wanted something different and she was very patient and kept saying his name and asking him what he would like to eat and you could just tell that there's community here at this restaurant and they really appreciate their regulars and all the guests that come in. I really like it here the food's great and so is the vibe come try it out.
