This place was recommended by a couple of my Mexican friends. We arrived a few minutes early only to find a waiting line to get in.
Once seated, we were brought some homemade salsa and chips. When trying a new Mexican restaurant - I always try their Chili Relleno. It was great. Not your normal breaded chili with salsa - but a roasted chili in a butternut cream sauce with pumpkin seeds. They also stuffed it with chicken.
Talking to one of the owners - everything on the menu is a family recipe. Everything is made fresh daily.
The next time you find yourself in Salinas - stop by and prepare yourself for a feast. Be sure to save some room for dessert.

I had ordered some chilaquiles not worth the price and it got me sick throwing up all night! Not the first time I was 5 months pregnant I had fallen and slipped and they didnāt help. Bad customer service and the owner's daughter was rude she didnāt show any sympathy! But I would never go back to the place!

A stunning triumph. Best Mexican food in California. The enchiladas (carnitas with red sauce, and lobster with yellow squash sauce and pumpkin seeds) look like they were painted onto our plates. The owner stopped at our table and said hello. Very friendly. Can't make a reservation; just go. A few parking spots on Main Street in Salinas or in a garage behind the restaurant, next to the Steinbeck Center.
