Most expansive variety of matcha from different providences in Japan. I’ve enjoyed the hyper-premium matcha every morning before work. Keeps you awake without any jitters and full of L-theanine. Excellent for health and longevity.

Just a heads up this is a wholesale store. You’ll have to order online and if you live close by you can pick it up. I got the Coldbrew Reserve Matcha and I really enjoy it. It’s bright but also full of umami and a natural sweetness that leaves a smooth aftertaste. Great in lattes and if you make a latte ahead of time the flavors are even smoother!

Best matcha you can find in the bay area

This is one of those reviews that I'm almost hesitant to write because the business is so good that I want it all to myself. First, the quality of the matcha is off the charts and the value you get is unparalleled with any matcha purveyor I've come across. Second, their shipping speeds and customer service are as good as it gets. Third, they prioritize their relationships with their customer, suppliers and everyone else involved in the chain of their business, the surest recipe for success. Breakaway Matcha is the exact kind of business I want to support and I also get insane matcha to boot. One last thing - I often times get big bags of their highest grade culinary matcha and use it in iced matcha. It's awesome and pretty much better than anything else you'll find around. If everyone tried matcha from here instead of the dead, olive brown powder they call matcha from other places, the world would love matcha! Get the emails and buy what you can afford. Every once in awhile spend a little more and taste the difference. This product will change the way you feel about tea.I still recommend loose leaf Japanese green teas of many sorts because it is good to have a variety. I get those elsewhere but this is the only place I buy matcha from.

Wanting to try some quality matcha, and not just the frilly, trendy matcha you see at cafes nowadays, we reached out to Breakaway Matcha for some samples. We shortly received our complimentary samples of cold brew packets, tried them, and fell in love.We've since ordered a jar of cold brew original, along with an electric frother (which they then upgraded on them to a full tea set with strainer, bamboo scoop, and a tea towel, how awesome is that?!). My wife, Shelby, made the attached photo of electric blended cold brew topped with some frothy milk. It's texture was silky and creamy, the milk froth brought in some sweetness so it didn't require any sugar or sweetener. We've also had it the shaken not frothed method as well and it's got a smooth texture and crisp flavor. Absolutely worth our investment and a permanent new addition to our coffee, tea, hot cocoa, and liquor cabinet.The Breakaway Matcha team were extremely friendly over email as well. Erik, the founder, answered our questions directly about methods of making matcha and Chris encouraged us to keep him updated as we tried new methods of blending matcha. Such a joy to interact with. Takes all fear of asking questions and exploring their online store's various options away knowing they're there to help. Also, they have a nifty questionnaire to help match you to the matcha that best fits what you desire. Super helpful.
