I couldn’t wait to go with my sister to eat at Insala’s as we had many great meals there. What a terrible disappointment. We shared a salad which was not as good as usual, but okay. Then after waiting 30 minutes they finally brought our entree and my chicken dish was horrible. It was dry and tasteless. I was so dissaponted.

Had lunch here. Always wonderful food. Too bad service doesn't rise to the same level. Young woman with the glasses needs a lesson in serving... Like not picking up an hors d'oeuvres that isn't finished (hurrying 6 diners to finish so she could take the plates) but then completely ignoring picking up plates at end of meal and failing to even ask if we wanted coffee or dessert before trying to drop the bill... Not sure if she was just trying to get off or was unaware of process of serving. Service definitely subpar.

I've eaten here many times. It's consistently excellent! The variety of dishes, many of which I've never seen elsewhere is always impressive. And they make the best steak I've had in the Bay area - and it's consistently cooked exactly as ordered. I've never had a bad dining experience here and always look forward to returning.

A friend and I had dinner celebrating her birthday. We started with the Mussels and squid appetizer, which was amazing and had a slightly spicy creamy sauce that was delicious. My friend had the Gnochetti, which she thoroughly enjoyed, and I had the Halibut. We finished with the Chocolate Celebration Cake. The food and the staff were excellent. Sorry I didn't get photos. The restaurant setting was very warm and classy, but you didn't have to dress up to be there. I would highly recommend it to anyone in the area. I applaud the management for the exceptional character of this establishment.

Our dinner was great with terrific food and incredible service. We had an 18 month old with us and our server went out of her way to keep him occupied with crayons and straws. This restaurant is one of our favorites and lived up to its reputation.

They have best food in San Alsemo. Definitely try the house baked focaccia, Hamachi poke, Eggplant fries, yogurt grilled chicken and wagyu bavette steak. The drinks are great too. We celebrated my wife's birthday and she/we had a great time:) Thank you

I had a wonderful birthday lunch with my cousin last week felt very satisfied with my first experience at Insalata's! Loved sitting outside. Had really amazing service and appreciated the server and his genuine kindness immensely. For dessert, they even wrote out Happy Birthday in yummy chocolate sauce on the plate!! Would certainly go back.
