I went for the first time today while waiting for my car to get fixed at the nearby Honda dealership, and we got a small coconut apple pound cake that's absolutely delicious! I can't wait to go back and try more things!

The alfajores were very disappointing. They have their own take sure, but it's basically a very tiny smear of Nutella inside two bland and very dry cookies. No one in my extended family finished any of theirs including the kids. I liked the butter cookie with guayaba a little better but it was still fairly bland. Overall the dough here needs to be more interesting.

Rico Pan Bakery in San Bruno is an absolute gem! I tried the custard Danish, alfajores, tres leches tiramisu, and the lemon taquito, and every pastry was outstanding. What really sets this place apart is the balance of flavor—everything is lightly sweetened, more in the style of European bakeries, rather than the overly sugary versions you often find in the U.S.

I’m from Europe, and the pastries here truly taste like home. Each item had its own unique texture...
