They're always so helpful and so nice!! And of course, their coffee drinks are excellent!!
Sandwich was fried. Pure junk. Although coffeeshop is nice itself.
Love the fun atmosphere, excellent lattes and breakfast options
lovely stop
I’ve been a loyal customer at GroovyGoose for some time now, but I was very disappointed with the customer service I experienced last week. I ordered a double shot of espresso on ice and went to the bar to add a splash of half and half, as I usually do. When I noticed the half and half container was empty, I asked the employee who rang up my order if there was any more available.
Instead of simply assisting, he responded rudely by saying that next time I would need to be charged for a latte. I explained that I didn’t want a latte, and that I specifically ordered a double shot because I find lattes too milky, especially the breve ones you serve. I was genuinely upset by the tone and implication of his comment, and I ended up leaving without adding anything to my drink.
At $6, a small splash of half and half shouldn’t be an issue, and certainly not something to cause conflict over! On top of that, my mom’s latte was also overly milky and not up to the usual standard.
I hope this feedback helps your team better understand how to speak to regular customers and maintain a welcoming environment.
I came here to say that this hole in the wall exceeded my expectations.
I ordered the breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and bacon. ? I had it with their homemade style biscuit and it held its shape; not too buttery.
Eating the eggs was like eating fluffy clouds. The texture of the breakfast sandwich dissolved into my mouth and it helped that the Pumpkin Pie oat latte wasn’t acidic or too bitter or lacked espresso so sip, don’t gulp because you want to take your time.
The ratio of coffee to Oatmilk was equally proportional. One can actually taste every sip, reminiscent of a fond fall memory in your mouth. ??
Sadly..there are no pictures but in many ways I felt like I was truly present enjoying the experience. I can tell the workers also cared about their work; all were friendly and kept the place nice and clean.
Thank youuuu!!! I’m coming back and I live in Berkeley where all their cafes are hard to beat. But this takes the prize in San Carlos.

Been consistently going here since they opened in 2023 and it's been fun watching their progress. The in-house roasted beans have come a long way since the first bag I bought - I love how you can now buy single origin (African beans are my favorite), and the roast is light so you can taste great coffee bean flavor when you brew. I would probably go more often than I do know if the drinks were slightly less expensive. There seems to always be a seasonal drink menu now, and it's fun trying both what's on-paper available and asking to mix-and-match the flavors for a different style of beverage since the flavors come from a homemade syrup. It's a little too bad that's how they're made because if you want less sweet, you get less flavor. There's seating inside and out, but the space is a bit small for me to feel okay with taking up a table/chair for an extended time (say for working remotely).

Such a cute, fun coffee shop. Kid and dog friendly. Great coffee. San Carlos really needed a spot like this!

Great little place, there are 3 tables outside and 3 inside. You can stay or walk around the area since there are plenty of stores to do some window shopping. I tried the cappuccino and it was very enjoyable and flavorful. They have optifions like lavender or hazelnut to add to your coffee, and the menu includes smoothies and some food items. Overall is a good place to get some coffee.

Consistently good coffee if you stick to the basics, however this is the only coffee place I know of that only uses 2 shots of espresso in a 20oz americano. I had to ask for 4 shots in my americano and they charged me nearly $4 additional, making it a $9 americano which seems a bit ridiculous considering the same drink at any other coffee place is $5-6. The seasonal specials are hit and miss, last few times I’ve tried they were over-flavored to the point of being undrinkable (lavender drink tasted like a coffee flavored essential oil concentrate, pumpkin pie latte flavoring was so overpowering it caused my friend to have nausea) and needed to be thrown out. Overall I really like this spot but am not going to pay $9 for an americano.

Open atmosphere with easy quick to order options. Barista approved drip coffee and espresso. FYI, sugar-free caramel/vanilla is an option for all you sweet-tooth coffee enthusiasts.
