I'm sure you'll find plenty of New Yorkers who, on principle, will exhibit nothing but disdain for any bagel that's made outside their city, but for me House of Bagels delivers a product that's consistently what I consider to be close to if not the quintessential bagel; fresh baked (on site), soft chewy interior, thin crispy crust, mildly sweet malty flavor. True bagel texture, awesome. Bagels are chewy because they steam then during the baking process. If you want bread that is shaped like a donut go elsewhere. This place is the real deal.
