Great birthday celebration dinner. Very good appetizer, calamri, grilled octopus, bruscetta and delicious main dishes, spagetti bolognese, seafood risotto. Creme Brule and napolean for dessert and all served with a smile and attentive service. We will return and highly recommend.

Really nice birthday dinner experience. Nice elegant feeling to the restaurant with friendly attentive service. Enjoyed the plentiful shishito appetizers with large amount on plate. Thick delicious asparagus soup of the day. Two loved their chicken parmigiana and the huge amount of homemade spaghetti on the plate. loved the crepe dessert. We plan to return soon.

Living in San Carlos for over 5 years and this is our favourite restaurant. Always love their light and fine taste.

Honestly was looking forward to this place, the service was awesome but I've never been thoroughly disappointed enough by the food to write a bad review, the food was horribly bland, I got the seafood orzo and the seafood was good, cooked perfectly texture wise but the whole dish had 0 flavor I was shocked, I've never paid 50 dollars before for a dish that was worse than something I could make on my own when I was in college, I do hope the food improves because I really did like the ambience and service here but that cannot make up for the poor food unfortunately. :(

The restaurant is beautiful with candlelight and dark tone ambiance. The food was OK, was missing some seasoning, bland taste on the Bolognese. Food was served quickly, within 10 minutes. The staff was not very approachable, no smiles or welcoming greetings.

Have not dined at Pranzi at all, maybe because I was so sad the former restaurant there closed (“La Tosca.”) I was pleasantly surprised by the entirely new atmosphere, bar, tables, yes, even all-gender restrooms, etc. and admit the former establishment was “worn.” I was shocked when I tasted the food. I ordered something safe; the fried chicken sandwich. It came with fries or side salad. I chose the salad. It was the best fried chicken sandwich I have EVER had. The soft bread was amazing, the chicken was perfect and since I couldn't read the fine print without my glasses, was surprised at the avocado and BACON included. Needless to say, I didn't leave one scrap of that sandwich on the plate. Didn't finish the salad but it was super-fresh and pretty with the carrot strips. I should have known it was going to be good because the bread served before lunch was delicious and so was their olive oil.... As Anton Ego said in Ratatouille, I will be returning soon - with friends. They assured me my Vegan friend would have plenty of choices. I will be checking out the wine list next time and sit at the cute bar! Big TV there of course. Thank you PRANZI!!!!

The restaurant ambiance was good but the food was pretty bland. Steak didnt have much flavor, the mash potatoes as well. The lasagna was good. The chicken parmesan was good but the chicken was bland. For an Italian restaurant I'm surprised it wants more flavorful. I'd go back to try it again but it was just ok.

Very nice Italian restaurant. The veal Osso Buco was excellent.

Service was great but food was just OK. Gnocchi and Pork Chop were both pretty good. Bread was cold and didn't seem very fresh. Calamari app was very plain (no flavor at all without dips). Kids spaghetti was bitter (son wouldn't eat it).

This is a lovely neighborhood Italian restaurant. Very warm and friendly atmosphere. The food is excellent especially the homemade pastas. We four each had pasta and each had a different one; all were excellent.

I have enjoyed this restaurant in the past. But service this evening was poor. A second order for beverages took 30 minutes to receive. Refills on waters for the table was very slow, and there were moments that we were plainly forgotten. Our reservation was at 5:30pm, and we left the restaurant at 8:50pm. That tells you about the service. I am very disappointed as this has been my go-to Italian restaurant.

For a birthday dinner, we had the bietole salad, bruschetta & prosciutto, truffle gnocchi, and ribeye and all were excellent great flavors and cooked to perfection. Service and ambience were superb plus a free tiramisu for dessert so a very special evening.

We consider Pranzi to be one of the best restaurants in San Carlos and have had a number of excellent dinners there. However last night was very disappointing. I needed red meat so ordered the prime rib steak - for $65! I specified medium rare - it arrived cooked medium, so I sent it back. Next it arrived very rare, barely cooked, so I sent it back again. The third steak was still too rare - but I was tired of waiting and accepted it. The meat was stringy and had a lot of fat and gristle. It was a major project to carve out the meat. Certainly not what I would expect from a top restaurant - at a price of $65!

We visited Pranzi for theatre yesterday with a party of 12 for my in-laws 67th wedding anniversary. Everything was wonderful! The food, the service and it was decorated tastefully for the holidays. We will be back!
