The food was outstanding. The cocktails were delicious and the calamari appetizer was delicious. The main Ceasar salad and entrees were very generous and the service impeccable.
Extremely disappointing I will never eat there again
The atmosphere because I got takeout and perhaps it was because it was New Year’s Eve and they were getting ready to close early. My food was not ready when I got there
They told me they wanted it to be fresh and warm
It was not warm when I got home less than 10 minutes later
And I keep a thermal bag in my car when I get takeout
The most disappointing was the crabcakes
They were buried under oily greens, and there was no reason for Aïoli
The crab cakes were drenched in oil
The salad wasn’t as fresh as I would’ve liked
And the main dish the chicken Parmesan was not good and the chicken was hard To chew
I get takeout on the Peninsula two or three times a month and this is my worst experience at any restaurant.
If they had been open by the time I got home, I would’ve asked for my money back and gladly returned the food
It cost me almost $100 and that’s a shame

We enjoyed our New Year's Eve dinner...haven't been to Spasso in a while but it's a favorite local spot. Calamari was crispy, tender and dipping sauces tasty. Liked the warm bread/olive oil dip. The black peppercorn pasta was tasty with the mini scallops and the lobster ravioli was fresh, tasty but wish there was more. The steak and the salmon are always our faves. Bread pudding was delicious too. Nice dinner treat and service was good. The only drawback was when we arrived at the front to check in..we had to wait a few minutes while no one came to the host area so we walked into the restaurant to check in.
Lobster ravioli is delicate yet rich. Service is excellent. Bread pudding is decadent + a bit heavy for me. Perfect for sharing. Want to taste the bolognese + other offerings.

Extremely disappointing experience
I had a confirmed reservation at this restaurant on December 25th (Christmas Day). Originally, my reservation was for 7:45 PM, and when I realized I would be slightly late, I updated it through the app to 8:00 PM, which was clearly available, the system was allowing reservations even later that evening.
Upon arrival, the hostess informed us that the restaurant closes at 8:00 PM and that we would not be seated, despite having a valid and confirmed reservation. When I politely asked why reservations were still available at that time in the app, the response was dismissive and unhelpful, simply stating that it “must have been a system error” and that nothing could be done.
This was meant to be our Christmas dinner, a special evening planned in advance. By the time we arrived and were turned away, there was no time left to find another restaurant, and our night was completely ruined due to poor management and lack of accountability.
If the restaurant does not serve guests after a certain time, this should be accurately reflected in the reservation system. This was not a customer error, it was clearly an operational failure.
I left feeling extremely frustrated, disappointed, and disrespected. I expected far more professionalism

My husband & I had 6:15 reservations on Christmas Eve. We have been to Spassos many times but this time was the worst experience. Our dinners were very good and arrived hot, but everything else was a pretty negative experience. You expect a restaurant to be busy on Christmas Eve, but Spassos was chaotic, disorganized, and in our opinion, greedy. Chairs were removed from the bar so a table of 6 could be squeezed between the bar and front window and three 2-tops placed on the long side of the bar. We were given one of these tables and told nothing else was available. The bar counter was just inches from our head, the door remained open so we had a constant cold breeze on us (the night was rainy & windy), no one served us for 20 min until I stopped a waitress serving another table at the bar and asked if she was servicing our table and told “I don't know”, and the bartender/manager leaned across the bar asking “ You want something?” & then pushing our drinks across the bar instead of bringing them to the table. The waitress I stopped came back and said “I guess I'll be helping you tonight.” Staff was constantly speed walking by our table to deal with customers waiting at the door and serving people at outside tables. To top it off, it was very noisy (which Spassos often is) so staff was yelling directions at each other to be heard and often they stood right at our table yelling over us to the bartender/manager. As we left we talked to someone who was in charge, but not the manager, and related our negative experience. While he apologized he made excuses with “she is new” and “we had a lot of big parties tonight”. Our drinks were comp'd and he did offer us a gift certificate to come back, which we refused because we will come back but basically Spassos mismanaged their reservations and got greedy by adding tables where they shouldn't have been. In an effort to make the most they could that night they greatly compromised our dining experience.

We were looking for a place to eat before our trip to Fiori gardens. It was a very nice surprise and we intend to go back for another wonderful meal.

So the food was good BUT Do you remember the Seinfeld skit where he makes a car rental reservation and they have no cars? Well something similar happened here: I had made a reservation for indoor seating and it was accepted by the restaurant. When we showed up we were told that there is only outdoor seating. When I asked why, they accepted my reservation for indoor the hostess just shrugged her shoulders and said “well we are full inside”. Basically she signaled to me that she couldn't care less. I really liked the place and went there many times in the past. Well there are many restaurants here and Spasso has lost a frequent customer.
We enjoyed the Warm Cabbage Salad and the Mushroom Ravioli. Both dishes were delicious. Our wait person was personable, attentive, kind, and accommodating. Spasso with it's relaxing ambience is now a favorite place for our lunching.

Met with an old friend from out of town. We enjoyed our drinks, food and each other. We were not rushed and had plenty of time to catch up.
The food is very tasty and the amount is good, The service is good also although it became very busy when we left.
