China Well Restaurant

My grandparents ate here once a week for twenty years or so. This is one of our families' favorite restaurants. They offer meals that I haven't found anywhere else: ruby chicken, house special chicken, and their special ice cream. The staff are excellent, too.

3 stars for the food.It's alright. Nothing that great. Keep in mind, I went on Labor Day since my favorite Chinese place is closed for the holiday and this was the only place in San Clemente that was open on the holiday. $9.45 for the lunch special that doesn't have soup to go which is an additional money if you want soup. Also, there's no choice of two or more items or gonna cost you more. I got the hot and sour soup, it was decent but I wouldn't go back for it. Sure the plate of lunch was a hefty size, the fried rice was so dried and seasoning were too salty. Kung Pao Chicken had a chili symbol on the menu, but it's just a couple of dried chili in the mix, not spicy at all and I had to add my own hot sauce (2x nuclear sauce bottle, which y'all can get on amazon or H-Mart).Services was awesome, friendly and knowledgeable. Would I come back? I don't know. Maybe when dining room is back open, then it's the bang for the buck on the lunch specials.

Love China Well! We truly care for & love the employees of this restaurant who go out of their way to treat everyone very kindly. This has been our favorite restaurant for over 6 years & is even more of a favorite since COVID began a year ago. They have the safest methods of picking up food during a pandemic & it is very much appreciated, as many restaurants in this town make customers plow through people waiting in line to order, which we won't do.

Great food, especially for lunch combos for dining in. Local businesses, been there 50+ years. Kungpau chicken is the best

Love, love, love this restaurant. Quality always there no matter what. I get veggie items and always get light sauce they never goof up. My husband gets spicey beef and is addicted. The service is top notch. They are the kind of service, taste and quality that most restaurants aspire to have. This place is classic and perfect.

Omg! Food was amazing! Orange chicken on point orange beef I can't stop eating. Egg rolls didn't make it out of the car. Bbq pfr. Wow! It was pricy but I'm not mad. Totally worth it.

I'm from MI, this is the best Chinese ready food in America! Go to: shrimp fried rice, orange chicken! Always fresh, nice chunks of fresh eggs, fresh shrimp, delicious aroma!! Stop thinking and choose China Well!

They offer a vast variety of fresh food. I love eating here. The employees are always very kind, rates are affordable and the spot is always neat.
