“The owner/chef is a nice dude with portions as big as his personality. For those unfamiliar- think home cooked “el pollo loco” if you will. His wife is the other chef and prep cook. I like simple food and the Half chicken with rice and beans is my go to since 2018. Local tip: this is a couple who’s been running the joint for over 40yrs, the husband is the only cook and sometimes his wife hopes over to help turn out meals. Sometimes the chicken is underdone when they’re super busy, but in almost 10 years I’ve maybe gotten 3 under cooked meats and when I bring it up, he cooks it more, sometimes throws in a free leg or wing and some extra guac or beans. This is as close to hole in the wall/family as it gets. For what this place is, I hope it stays Open until they retire or a son/daughter takes over. Think el pollo loco before it became mainstream, for a day I’m not feeling burgers, I love coming here and sitting on the. Lot of good fish on the menu too, makes me think Baja or south gulf. Very refreshing eats”

South Swell also caters and its a favorite at wedding receptions. I highly recommend!”

They also serve pizza from Sonny’s, a local Italian spot, and it’s honestly some of the best bar food around. Definitely worth stopping in if you’re in the area.”

It was my gran's first outing since the funeral and i was worried but our server was this adorable silver haired woman named Rebecca. She had my Gran laughing the whole time. We ordered combos and the suggested jalapeño watermelon margaritas, which were spicy and refreshing. We needed a nap afterwards because we were too stuffed! My gran won't stop asking when we can go back. Thank you South of Nicks for lovely meal, and Thank you Rebecca, for helping a family member feel normal after tragedy. You are in our prayers”

“When we had to change my brother-in-laws rehearsal dinner and welcome drinks because of the wildfires this past weekend, Ilya stepped up and was so accommodating to our group. The service was exceptional and no one ever had to wait longer than a couple minutes for a drink and we had close to 60 people. Christian, in particular, was amazing and went above and beyond for our party! The food was delicious, full of flavor, and had a great variety for all the different allergies our large group had. What could’ve been a really disappointing situation turned into one of the highlights of the weekend and we are so thankful for the way Ilya treated our family!”

“We came because we saw it is a relatively new place and had good reviews. Unfortunately, we did not find the food to be very good. I would say for price to quality, it was pretty average at best. In my opinion, the pizza was below average. It was a strange combination of the pretty good cheese and chicken combined with a horrendous crust. The shrimp pasta was alright while the carbonara was probably the best thing the table got. Additionally, while our server was great, they were spread so thin across all the tables in the front and back that it was tough to really ask for anything. I will come back another day and chalk it all up to just being an off day for the restaurant.”

Everything was simply perfect!!!!”

You can tell everything in the kitchen is well maintained by seeing and tasting. “I have to rate The Mediterranean Rim on Del Mar 5Stars. Their food is Always consistent, and always consistently delicious. Such a cute and cozy place. Its our favorite “date night” restaurant in town. I personally Love the goat cheese salad, Squash Soup, Skirt Steak, Fish, ?Wine sections are great, and the sauces they create are fantastic. Must add the best homemade cheesecake for desert. Thank you.”

There’s a really nice balance of bright, fresh flavors and more savory, comforting ones, so the food feels satisfying without being heavy. It’s also such a great option in the Miramar food court when you want something a little fresher and more flavorful than the typical food-court choices. “Dark Magic Sushi was D-freaking-licious. Ashton and I recently stopped in for dinner, and the food was immaculate. Everything came out quickly, tasted incredibly fresh, and was clearly prepared with a lot of care. Once we were seated, we were able to enjoy a full sushi meal in less than 45 minutes.

The wait to be seated was longer than expected, and the service was a little slow at times because the restaurant was completely full. Our server could have checked in with us more often, but those were relatively minor issues compared to how good the food was.

Overall, Dark Magic Sushi delivered an excellent meal and easily earned five stars. We will be back and would strongly recommend it to anyone looking for high-quality sushi in San Clemente.”

Lunch and the beach; Beach and a good lunch; Any order you choose. Right down from the park n ride other side of Carl's Jr. Gotta try the orange chicken Damn its good! And the teriyaki bowl....wow! I didn't realize how unauthentic some spots are but Dalu's dishes seem to have super fresh ingredients. I can taste the zucchini and the green onions, the carrots etc. Watch out for those red peppers. The meat and sauce really make ever bite pop! Especially after a good day at the beach. And if you're not much for Hawaiian food, they have a pretty bomb burger meal. Not in the San Clemente area? Then handle that! Stop in and get yourself some delicious food.”

The atmosphere is beautiful at Roost they have music on some Sunday’s and jazz every Thursday night these are reserved events and the talent is top notch. I’d check the event calendar before you go they do have special events like tastings, murder mystery night, when need a reserved seat. Great staff & cocktails and is family owned and they are fun gals. There is a dress code no shorts or flip flops, but you can go casual. They do it up big during all the holidays and have a great Halloween party.”
