“My family and I usually love Jizake and have been to this place multiple times over the years. However after last nights dinner not sure if we will come back. The first issue is that the server forgot to bring us 3 of our appetizers. I also noticed that my hot sake wasn't very hot and that they have trimmed down the size of their rolls. During the meal it became obvious to all of us outside that they were using a wifi speaker and whoesever phone it was hooked up to must have been moving around since the music was going in and out. Lastly while asking for the check I instructed the server to take the appetizers off our bill since we didn't receive them. He said he would and when he came back I was given a hand written bill with the break down. To his credit those appetizers were shown but not charged. I totaled up each line item and everything seemed correct as the subtotal was $170 with tax total should have been $183.17. However after taking my credit card he came back saying they totaled our bill incorrectly and apologized. Our new printed bill after charging my credit card didn't show the pricing break down for all the items but it appears that they added back in the money for the appetizers as with tax it came to $196.11 plus tip. By this point we just wanted to leave. After getting home we started not feeling so well. We don't usually have any bad reactions to sushi so maybe it was some sort of cross contamination issue. Either way I would caution everyone while eating at this establishment.”

Came in the evening, the room is a tad dark but the beef/lamb gyro bowl was really good, there's a larg portion of meat that was too much for me, so I personally would go with the steak souviaki instead. Fries also are soft without crisped edges. The Strawberry dragonfruit tea was amazing! Loved it a lot, thanks for the meal!”

Our bartender was fabulous, our meal, Branzino.. delicious, eye appealing, beautiful presentation and enough to split We met the owner who spent ample time with us as we asked questions about his journey opening the location, his background and the concept/vision for the restaurant and we met the GM. I loved the ambiance, open and welcoming and they have a mercado with authentic product. Next time I'm going to the pizza bar with some more birthday girls!”

I had the halibut with mango salsa. OMG.... Delicious!! My bf had the shrimp n pasta. He said it was very good but the halibut was better. You absolutely need to try the beet salad. So many flavors. For dessert we had the lemon cheesecake. It was mouth watering.

Service was too rushed. I got my beet salad and 4 min later I received my dinner plate.

Even though there were a few hiccups, we did have a pleasant evening and we'll be back.”

“I am a challenging customer because I have been the food service profession for decades. I can look at an item and tell you if it came from SYSCO, US Foods, Restaurant Depot, or some other popular source…and my familiarity can adversely impact my dining experiences. I tend to be hypercritical of both the front & back of a restaurant (kitchen staff & servers) and this skepticism is magnified when I feel the need to be catered to. Yes…I’m that guy.

I have returned to Mangia Bene every time I need to impress someone or simply feel the need for great food and service that makes me feel catered to…even spoiled. They do not disappoint and Reggie manages the establishment with a watchful eye and hires very well. You can tell his staff enjoys working here and they value the patron. It’s a tightly run ship decorated with crystal, linen and amazing food that stuns the eye and pleases the taste buds. The bartenders are above average as well. They can make anything and everything and you can have it your way! A slightly dirty martini with enough olives you can call it a low-cal salad? No problem. We have never been served a bad drink here. Martinis come to you with ice crystals floating…not melted like “some places” who do not know better.

After a particularly brutal day, my wife & I needed a date night. We chose Mangia Bene and tried some new dishes. The appetizers were fabulous and generous…so much so we went straight to dessert afterwards because that was all we had room for. But we still ordered entrees to take home cuz great Italian food for breakfast is a wonderful thing! (New Yorkers are smiling as they read this).

If you are a tough customer…if you scrutinize things like the crystal stemware, the house wine selections, expect the perfect port wine served in a proper snifter, holding a quality steak knife and other fine touches that mean something, if you know when your server is providing the ideal level of service (not stopping to check on you too often or disappearing for too long) and seek a dining experience in elegant and comfortable surroundings, then do yourself a favor and go visit Mangia Bene on a day when you need to be treated right…or have a client you need to delight. Go ahead…book your table with absolute confidence. I have been dining here for decades and never once had a negative experience. Of course, unlike the 1-star review people I am not using DoorDash or complaining about the restaurant being packed because it is so popular. There’s an excellent reason for this. At Mangia Bene…they set the customer service bar so high…other restauranteurs need to charter a plane just to see it.”

I called the Laguna Niguel location off of Aliso Creek and La Paz to inquire about whether or not that specific cookie would be on the menu.
The staff member I spoke to (Sam) was very friendly and informed me that they had recently made a “twist” to the classic Chocolate Chunk cookie, combining it with another one of their signature cookies the Semi Sweet Chocolate Chip Cookie. I ordered through DoorDash last night, and I was absolutely blown away. I had seen this place before but had never tried it. When I came across it on DoorDash, I looked through the menu and decided to give it a chance—and I’m so glad I did!

Let’s start with the chicken egg rolls. When I took my first bite, I was genuinely impressed to find large pieces of white-meat chicken and vegetables inside. And the flavor? Absolutely delicious! The fried rice was just as flavorful, and the House Special Chicken was another standout.

But the pan-fried noodles with beef and vegetables deserve a special mention. This is one of my favorite dishes, and I’m always excited to find a restaurant that does it well. I really appreciated that the noodles were packaged separately from the beef, vegetables, and sauce so they wouldn’t get soggy during delivery. That little detail makes such a difference! Once I poured everything over the noodles and took a bite, I knew this was one of the best versions of this dish I’ve had in a long time.

Not only was every dish outstanding, but everything arrived hot! I even had some of the leftovers for lunch today, and they still tasted amazing. From the flavors to the thoughtful packaging, the entire experience exceeded my expectations.

I like to try restaurants for myself rather than rely solely on reviews, and Kaleyard made an incredible first impression. You will definitely be getting more orders from me, and I can’t wait to explore the rest of the menu.

“I love getting the harvest bowl here! (Although personally I sub out the goat cheese for an egg) Its been my treat dinner during finals and they always deliver. It is a bit pricey for a salad, but they are seriously good, and good for you so I dont mind spending a bit more. The restaurant is usually empty or has 1 to 2 people which can be a bit odd, but I usually get my salads to go so I don't mind.”
