This shop is hands down the best gelato/ice cream spot in SoCal. I LOVE the monster cookie and so many other flavors and sizes available. I drive down just to have this sweet treat! All of my family and friends I’ve brought tried and loved it. Lucky dog is the best!! ? ?

The flavors are seasonal and fresh, the cookies are out of this world, and the ambiance is warm & welcoming. It feels like home and we are thankful that they opened up in San Clemente! I've only experienced discrimination a few times in my life - and at this place I certainly felt it.My wife and I went in here on our mini-honeymoon after getting married in San Clemente. She's a total gelato fan and was thrilled to stop here. We were disappointed with our experience here.

While visiting San Clemente this weekend, I googled "best coffee and ice cream nearby" and up popped Lucky Dog Gelato among others.I clicked thru to their website and read About Us page - classically trained in Italy, loves dogs (adopted from rescue), locally sourced ingredients, on and on great story - had to check it out!Enthusiastic counter staff explained the gelato flavors as well as any top server at a high end restaurant. Didn't catch the young man's name, but he rocked it and set an awesome first impression. Then a young lady came out and fulfilled our order, also very personable and super pleasant.White Coffee Cajeta gelato captured our taste buds and we ordered a cappuccino as accompaniment.Yum, yum, yum !!!!Hat off to chef and owner, this is a very special place. Thanks for making this world a little better and tastier
