We tried Momoku couple weeks ago, and I am still drooling for the wagyu nigiri. We got lucky they had few slices left for us to order as we were told they sell out fast! Hoping to go back for more soon!
There is a $25 PER PERSON cancellation fee for reservations - beware.
No where do they mention that they stop serving food at 9:30, yet they allow you to make reservations until 10 pm. No one warned us until we actually sat down.
Came here hungry, left hungry.
Their drinks are good and service was friendly. Will have to come here earlier next time. Hope the owner takes notice and updates their website and yelp page - no where does it mention when the food service stops.
It is basically a bar. Four pages of drinks and 1 1/2 food. You drink downstairs, but cant bring your 18$ drink, that you just orfered upstairs, for no discernable reason. Its better to stay ay Lost Inferno and carry in a pizza from Sonny's.
This place has become a favorite bar/restaurant in Orange County. Surprisingly amazing fish quality in the sushi! Only serve handrolls but they are all amazing. I do go hungry and fill up on them. The drinks are also some of the best I’ve had in Orange County. « Kick Out The Jams » is now my favorite cocktail of all time. The staff and owner take a lot of pride in their drinks and you can taste the quality. Highly recommend this place!
The atmosphere and speakeasy entrance was great! The sushi/hand roll left a bit more to be desired though. Small portions that tasted alright. The staff were great though and very friendly. Parking is a little difficult but a walk in San Clemente is always nice.

Several pages of cocktails, one of food. Food is very limited so, as another poster said, don’t go there hungry. The food was good but didn’t think it was worth the money.
Very limited parking, don’t plan to park in front.

We had a quick bite before the Inferno Bar. The sushi was incredibly fresh and so flavorful! We highly recommend giving this cute place a chance before heading out.

5th time here, salmon and uni was nice and fresh, the yellow tail was not, next time (if there even will be a 6th time) going to order half as many rolls and because they are a "hit or miss". If you are an alcoholic, this place is perfect because the drinks are well made, if you can afford it 15 $ to 60 $ per drink.
But the fish is inconsistent, I don't like the super lazy western approach to the rice being pre-made in a plastic tray, that was washed with regular tap water, not clean filtered water. So all the cleaning chemicals in tap, like Chlorine for example, which does cause cancer, is now on the rice.
Definitely not a place for educated people who enjoy clean and safe food that has consistently good quality.
But if you are just a average drunk that is consuming alcohol daily and doesn't care about good hygiene or a well balanced lifestyle you will feel at home if you are of low standards and make decent money as the drinks are far from cheap.
Sad to see the potential this place has go to waste. Could be attracting people like us that spend 200+ every time, if you fixed the hygiene problem and quit cutting corners on pre-made rice and simply washed your hands with soap for 30 to 60 seconds or simply had 1 person always making the rolls and staying super clean and the rest of you cleaning up tables and making drinks.
But instead you are currently catering to the local lower class that have 1 drink and 2 rolls, 2 drinks max if you're lucky.
I can afford to spend 300, two to three times a week here and so can my friends, because we love to pig out on good, fresh, clean seafood, accompanied by a couple tasty drinks.
But just as last time, probably will be a month before I come back here with my friends again. Maybe two to three months if ever.
We were so excited in beginning the first two times we came everything was good and fresh.
But obviously management doesn't have the capacity to grasp the concept of consistently providing good service, in other words how all of our businesses make millions because we don't cut corners ever, never compromise on quality and consistency.
And the #1 millionaire rule is simple. Trust=Money and the moment you lose trust is the moment you lose money.
Get a clue or get out of the business.
And parking sucks very bad.

They have a ton of drink options. They only have had rolls as a food option. If you are hungry you better eat before you come here. I got the avocado roll which was good.

Nice little speakeasy. The entrance is unique and we loved the decor and vibe. The service was standard and the drinks & sushi were good but nothing to blow you away. Recommend they change to paper menus! The phone menu was hard to read and it took away from the ambiance they're trying to create.

This is one of the best sushi spots and craft cocktail pairings in Southern California. Customer service, atmosphere and vibe is everything. The sushi is fresh, distributed from Japan weekly. Love my experience every time I go. Reservation only as well. Sushi Chef is from Tokyo as well. Highly recommended coming here.
