Rancho Capistrano Winery

I’m basing my food rating on the wine since we didn’t eat. We did a 5 glass wine tasting of mixed red and whites. We ended up buying a bottle of delicious Rose. Service was great.

I used to really like going to this restaurant but their food portions have gone way down in size the chicken spiedini is half the size it was last year even. It's still good, it's just not shareable anymore. Even their wine serving size is less. Pretty bummed.

Literally my favorite place in San Clemente!!! Can I give it 6 stars, maybe 7.?!?!? LOVE the wine, food is amazing and the staff is sooooo awesome. I am only in San Clemente several times a year, but I get off the plane and head straight here every time!!!

We were out for an evening walk and felt like a glass of wine and something light to munch on and chill. We came to Ranco Capistrano Winery. I’m really glad we stopped here. Super laid back. Relaxing out on the patio area with nice party lighting and some flame heaters. I ordered a glass of their “Remington.” A mild sweet red with a nice fruity finish. I had to, we named our dog the same name. We ordered a spinach artichoke dip that came with fresh made tortilla chips. Nice baked finish on the dip to create a nice crust on top. The service was friendly and attentive. The entire experience was very relaxed and pleasing. Thank you Ranchers Capistrano Winery for a memorable evening. Sorry I didn’t take pics of the food. We were just enjoying the experience. But the included pic is a view from the outdoor seating. Maybe we’ll get back there and correct that.

This spot caught me by surprise. Great wine selection and flights. The appetizers were amazing. I could eat a massive bowl of that bisque with the crostini. The crazy thing is all four of us got the burger! One of the best burgers I've had and the fries were killer too. Looking forward to eating there again.

We love this place. Wide variety in menu and everything we've had was delicious. Staff is wonderful and very accommodating. Wine selection is really nice and well balanced.

Perfect meal - service and food was perfect, recommendations from servers were spot-on.

Nice ambience. Group of 10 tried multiple dishes, food was ok, but kitchen has some work to do to get 4 or 5 stars, tried the white wine sampler…didn’t fancy any of the 3. Party did enjoy the red sampler

Haven't been here for years. They've definitely upped their game. To start, great service. Little things matter, like our server happily moving us inside after we got a little chilly at our outside table. She also offered to make us a mocktail though there wasn't one on the menu (it was YUMMY BTW. See the pic attached.) We ordered the sesame crusted Ahi and the shrimp topped halibut. Both were not only better than expected but very large portions. Quite a pleasant surprise vs. the trend of many other restaurants. Nice plating too. All in all, it was a wonderful date night with good food, great service and fair prices.

Delicious brunch at Rancho Capistrano Winery! We sat on the dog friendly patio and were able to enjoy the beautiful San Clemente downtown. We ordered the fig bruschetta, Gorgonzola apple flatbread, and crab Benedict and loved them all. The mimosas are also very tasty and refreshing. Excellent service, quick and friendly. Recommend!

Excellent brunch - food and service were outstanding.

Actually I would give it 2.5 stars but won't let me.
The good - server was wonderful and charming. And the place is nicely decorated.
The bad - A $50 halibut entrée should be positively unctuous. I should have swooned with pleasure at its tenderness. Instead it was assembly line bland and, while not exactly dry, it wasn't moist. The risotto should have been out of this world. Instead - I was underwhelmed. The bland risotto wasn't creamy deliciousness (like Rocco's down the street was years ago).
I guess one shouldn't order $50 halibut from a restaurant that boasts great flatbread and coconut shrimp.

Grear flatbreads

Food was divine and the service was perfect. The ambience is ideal for date nights or to go with friends. I'll definitely recommend this one in San Clemente. Parking was good and the area around was beautiful and safe.

Love these restaurants. I have been all 3 of them. I love their menu. I honestly don't drink wine, so all this is based on everything else.
