First visit was on a quiet Wednesday. Immediately impressed with the greeting and beautiful upscale space. Were were seated upstairs with a nice view. Our server gave a good overview of the menu. I would characterize her as professional but not overly personable/friendly. We split a rib eye which was cooked perfectly and super tender and favorable. The Caesar salad was ok, it was kind of like a bowl of parm with some lettuce on the side. Probably would pass next time. Oh, my hot tip is get the meat board which provides several different cuts. We thought it was too much meat for just the 2 of us (server said about 20oz of meat), but the table next to us had it and they raved about it. Always doggie bags or good for e-4 people

Do yourself a favor and make sure youâre seated within the outdoor second floor balcony so you can take in a beautiful sunset over Catalina island. This is the perfect setting to enjoy an exquisite dining experience. The service is only exceeded by the delicious dishes that satiate the mist discerning palette. Our âstartersâ included the shrimp cocktail (with a device Smokey twist), snow crab claws, and a few wood grilled lamb lollipopsâŠall worth the price. My entree was the Denver cut wagyu, a cross between the filet and ribeyeâŠa must try. Table sides included whipped potatoes, truffle creamed spinach, and ricotta ravioliâŠperfect accompaniments. We capped off the meal with their butter cake topped with sour cream ice cream (even better than Nicks up the street!). All in all, a great dining experience.

Rare Society in San Clemente is the real deal. As someone who has eaten steak all over the world (and sits in the top 20% of Google steakhouse reviewers), Iâd put this in my top fiveâeasily.
We ordered the Associate board and added the Wagyu Denver, which ended up being the absolute star of the night. Perfectly cooked, rich, and memorable. Every side dish we triedâfrom the roasted mushrooms to the potato au gratinâwas on point. Even the Parker House rolls disappeared faster than Iâd like to admit.
The service was excellentâHallie guided us with spot-on suggestions, and it felt like she knew exactly what weâd enjoy before we did. Theyâre also kid-friendly, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Our little one was happy with the pasta while we enjoyed cocktails and steak.
Dessert deserves its own shoutout: the Bananas Foster cheesecake was the kind of ending that makes you rethink skipping dessert in the future.
All around, this is an excellent local spot that delivers on every level. Already planning my next visit.

My wife and I came here for our wedding anniversary. The service was excellent, the atmosphere is really nice but not intimidating, but the VERY expensive steak board we ordered left me unsatisfied. For $200, I expected to be amazed but the steaks were just fine which is why I'm giving the food a 3 star. The lobster appetizer and bolognese ravioli side dish were what actually stole the show for us.

This place had some outstanding food and service. We didn't know there was parking in back, so we parked kind of far up the street. But just an fyi, go to the street behind the restaurant and you'll find the entry to their parking lot.

Excellent food and service but when our party of four adults were seated next to a couple with three small children who screamed in our ears most of the two hours it took to eat dinner at 5 pm, it made the $500 bill without alcohol not worth it.

Incredible service with such kind staff. Really love coming here and the food is so unbelievably good that we audibly gasped haha. My new favorite restaurant, and thats a HARD spot to fill. They also had a birthday card for me ready signed by the staff.

Beautiful ambiance, every detail well though of. Patio seating was very pleasant too, as the street isn't loud at all. Servers and support staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable and made us feel welcome. The executive steak selection was very tasty, filet being the best, parker house rolls didn't disappoint, and cheesecake desert topped with oce cream was awesome. Great place!

Rare Society in San Clemente is a standout spot for a memorable date night. The cocktails were expertly craftedâflavorful, balanced, and easy to sip. We started with some delicious appetizers, but the Associate platter stole the show with its variety of tender, flavorful steak cuts. The banana Foster cheesecake was the perfect sweet finishârich, warm, and unforgettable. The atmosphere was upscale yet relaxed, making it easy to settle in and enjoy. Weâll definitely be back.
