I’m giving 3 stars merely for the food after my last couple visits here. My son and I have been going to Ruby’s forever, it’s our spot as it was mine with my mom in the 90s! We just moved to San Clemente so this is our closest location now. One of the best perks nowadays is that on Tuesdays kids eat free. Last time my son and I went to this location, they didn’t apply the kids eat free and for some reason that time I brushed it off and thought ok maybe this location doesn’t do it? We decided to go last night since it was Tuesday, I called ahead this time and asked them if they do the kids eat free on Tuesdays. The gentleman who took the call (who I’m pretty sure was our server) assured us they do it. We go in and eat, and when he brings the bill I realize he didn’t apply the kids eat free for my son’s meal. I pointed it out to him, and he said okay I’ll bring it. And goes to get a new bill where it’s applied. So basically the situation here is - if the customer doesn’t request the kids eat free Tuesday thing, they don’t do it? I’m pretty sure that’s very poor business practice. He got caught, then went to get a new check. He clearly knew about the deal, given he immediately went to go correct it. Did he not want to do it because it may affect how much his tip is? He wasn’t very pleasant overall, which I wouldn’t have cared about had the bill thing not occurred. Kind of bummed about this location and think we will just make the trip to Laguna next time.

Wonderful server, very nice. Food is wonderful, as always. The actual design and layout of the restraint is very California like.

We’ve visited many times, but I always forget to share a review. Ruby’s is a chain restaurant, and even though I haven’t tried other locations, I really enjoy the burgers here—they’re unique and delicious. If you’re not a fan of fries, you can switch to another side. The service is friendly, and the staff checks in from time to time. The location is great too, right inside the outlet, so there’s always a steady flow of customers.

T his is obserd! We went to the movies, and stopped in for a hamburger. Thos is the 1st time I have been to Ruby's in 15 years. Sadly enough, i should have trusted my intuition. The hamburger was terrible, and there was not much to it. A massive bun, and littke meat. Fries were old and cold. So sad. In this day of competition, how does this place survive? McDonalds has better quality. This message is for management. Please get your priorities in order. The setting is perfect. The product is horrible!
