Robin is an amazing manager! Chris is an amazing bartender. Chris made our drinks perfect, perfect taste and robin was very accommodating, friendly, and attentive. The lemon drop and cucumber martini was amazing. We definitely recommend and ask for Chris to make your drinks because he makes them perfectly! Robin is amazing at his work he made us feel very welcome. 10/10 recommend.

What a great rooftop bar! Great atmosphere and a chill vibe in a low key neighborhood.
Ordered the Chicken Pineapple Heights. Came with tzatziki dipping sauce. Simple but flavorful and right off the grill. Literally burned my tongue after the waitress told me to hold off. My bad!
Also drank a Cucumber Heights. Super refreshing drink that wasn’t skimping on the tequila.

Food was above average but the drinks and view are why your really here. Happy hour drinks for 10$ from 3-6, plus til 7 on Thursdays. Dog friendly rooftop bar. It's not the tallest building I've had drinks at but the view over all of normal heights is pretty darn good. Outdoor firepits for after dark. Elevator access or stairs. Staff was super friendly accommodating our large party on a Thursday!

How many rooftop restaurants and bars can you think of in San Diego? Not many. This place is great and, so far, flying under the radar. The food menu is limited but excellent and the drinks are equally good. You have to try this place. We need to keep them in business. I see lines out the door places that are half as good. Get down here.

Abnormal Heights had the potential to be a great spot, but it fell short in a few key areas.
Drinks: The Urban Espresso was a miss. Strong, yes, but very unbalanced (quite watery) - definitely not worth the price. The Breezy Bodega was just okay - fine, but not something I'd order again, especially considering the price. Honestly, you'd be better off grabbing a drink down the street at Polite Provisions.
Food: This one's a head-scratcher. The food prep area looked more like a storage room than a kitchen, which wasn't exactly confidence-inspiring. However, the grills themselves looked nice. I didn't try any food, so I can't comment there. Given the other reviews, this may be where they shine!
Ambiance: The rooftop bar has potential, but the atmosphere felt off-putting for the price range. It just didn't live up to the upscale vibe they seem to be going for.
Rooftop View: Unlike Kairoa in University Heights with its charming rooftop view, the view here is sea of unattractive neighboring rooftops. This, coupled with the strange atmosphere, made the whole experience feel underwhelming
Service: Only positive stuff here, the staff was attentive, friendly, a had a good laid-back vibe.
Overall, Abnormal Heights has the potential but needs to improve drinks, revamp the food prep area to be more presentable, and address the rooftop atmosphere. Until then, there are better options for drinks and rooftop experiences in San Diego. However, these things can be fixed and I'm rooting for them. It's certainly nice to have competition in the restaurant/bar space.

Whether for a date night or a hangout with friends, this rooftop bar in San Diego is the perfect spot. I loved the chill, laid-back atmosphere with upbeat music that's not too loud, allowing for easy conversation. The abundance of plants and twinkling lights make this rooftop, overlooking San Diego, incredibly charming. The service was fast and efficient, the drinks were delicious, and the steak I ordered was perfectly medium rare. I'll definitely be back.

Absolutely loved this place. Felt like we were in a different city for a bit. It’s got a really unique view, the food was delicious, and the folks who work there were genuinely kind. Yay for new spots in normal heights
