I came here for my birthday with a big group of 10 and had such a great time!! I called ahead to reserve a table. The staff is super nice and the sushi was delicious. In particular the eel hand roll was one of the best I've had!! The prices were also pretty low especially from the 50% off list and the 99c sake bombs which are so fun. The staff even served us our cake that we brought and made it a whole celebration! Overall so glad I picked this spot for my birthday dinner and definitely will be back for more sushi

Tried Sushi Kuchi on Convoy and honestly, I wouldn’t go back. The 50% off menu feels very deceiving—small portions and not worth the price, even with the discount. My salad was the only thing that tasted good. My son’s salmon roll was tiny and used scrap fish instead of a proper piece.
With so many amazing sushi spots on Convoy (including the super busy one right next door), this place really doesn’t compete. It wasn’t busy when we went, and now I see why. Disappointed overall.

We went in to get some sushi and my friend wanted to get some drink and the server Daniel was speculating way too hard on the card where my friend had to clarify that it is real. It was very strange. He proceeded to ask the other people’s id at the table even though I wasn’t ordering a drink. Daniel was not giving proper costumer service by saying we could leave. And i was hungry lol. It was unfortunate

I went in with my other 2 friends on Mar 9th to get a nice sushi roll or so I thought and I ordered 3 sake bombs to start off just for myself so I showed my ID to the manager named Daniel who was serving at the time and he went ahead to thoroughly inspect my NY drivers license like using the light to see the reflections and stuff. I went ahead to say it’s not fake and I’m military and he still harassed me saying he needs to see the tables IDs (which would’ve been no problem if he was respectful because we were all of age) even tho the drinks were just for me then happily told us to leave instead of trying to understand the confusion he had. If this is the customer service sushi kuchi offers then I would rather take my money somewhere else. I felt super uncomfortable and I will not be coming back

Daniel was very unprofessional and made me and my party of 3 very uncomfortable after an ID was shown as requested and took way more than 2 minutes to review it. He happily invited us to leave the establishment with sarcasm. Do better Daniel as you stated your boss was out of town.

Great sushi at a decent price. They were fast and kind even though we walked in close to closing time. Great vibe!

Sushi Kuchi on Convoy Street in Kearny Mesa made an amazing first impression on our recent visit! It was our first time dining there, and from the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and friendly energy. The atmosphere was lively yet welcoming, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a casual yet delicious sushi meal.
The sushi itself was fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. They offer a great selection, including classic rolls and more unique options that really stand out. One highlight of our visit was their specials, which made trying different items easy and affordable. Whether you're a sushi enthusiast or just starting to explore, their menu has something for everyone.
Overall, we left with full bellies and happy hearts. The combination of great service, delicious sushi, and unbeatable specials makes Sushi Kuchi a place we’re excited to return to. If you’re in the Kearny Mesa area and craving sushi, this spot is definitely worth checking out!

Friday night exploring Asian cuisine in the SD Convoy area. We wanted to stop by at a Japanese restaurant to have a little nibble before we went to have Korean food. We had sushi and a beer at Sushi Kuchi, a corner eatery right next to Aqua Spa. The place is casual, quaint without much frills. The staff was attentive. We only ordered one roll, I cannot remember the name but it was gorgeous and absolutely delicious! It was a crab roll with red onions and thinly spiraled beets on top. Just gorgeous presentation, huge bites and oh so yummy! We were a little put off by the price at first, $26 for a roll but then realized that all rolls are 50% off which makes these specialty rolls very reasonably priced. I would like to come back to Sushi Kuchi for a full dinner!
