Went for dinner because it was highly recommended by Yelp. Very family friendly with many young children. Restaurant was very tired looking. Windows in bar area looked like they have never been cleaned. Was seated at table on porch outside next to broken glass barrier. Also killed giant brown spider climbing on our table during our meal. Hostess was nice but clueless. Told us to get a cocktail and we would be seated in a couple minutes. After 20 mins, I went back to the hostess and they had confused my party with another. Bartender and waitstaff were very nice. Food was mediocre.
Excellent dinner with lots of choices for small appetites to large appetites. Gracious and efficient service. Save room for the sticky toffee pudding, which was out of this world.
We've dined at Covewood several times over the past few years and always enjoy the bayside view and weather on the patio. While others in our foursome enjoyed their lunch selections, I was disappointed in the Cubano sandwich. The crusty bread was OK, but the rest was underwhelming. The sandwich had a slice or two of ham and a few pickles. I only ate half and so the other ingredients, if any were forgettable. My expectation for a Cubano was a pressed sandwich made with slow-roasted pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard, all served on a long, soft, and slightly sweet Cuban bread. What I received was more like something I would have thrown together at home for a quick lunch. I'm sure I'll be back to the Covewood, but the Cubano is off my order list.
Lovely location on Mission Bay. Sat outside. Excellent waiter. Enjoyed their clam chowder! Very generous clam portion. Great salad.
Beautiful view, very tasty food, excellent service for family, friends or romantic dinner.

Not very good customer service. Sat us on a table which was not cleaned even though they set up the table for our reservation. Person came over to clean after 20 mins of waiting and didn't do a good job, still left crumbs in the table... and we didn't get our server to come by for more than 15 mins of sitting without any menus either. It was just very strange service, not what I expected. Very disappointing.
The worst service at a resort bar and restaurant I have ever experienced. I come to the Covewood bar a lot since I play pickleball at the resort and I have never seen a bar manager worse than this. The manager has no professionalism and is one of the sleaziest people I have ever met. A couple of things — I gave my credit card to the bar tender for an open tab. Upon checkout I was told that they didn’t have my card and that I never gave it to them. How the heck do you lose a credit card?? Come to find out the bar missplaced the credit card while they kept telling us that they never got our card. I expected better at a resort bar but they are no better than a trashy neighborhood bar. Not only did they lose my credit card but they charged us a 20% large group fee while we were sitting at the bar. I have always thought that group fees were charged when you are sat at a table…not at the bar. Hands down worst manager and service I have ever experienced anywhere. Embarrassing for Mission Bay.
We absolutely love this place for some beautiful San Diego vibe, relaxed eating experience and great food! Also loved the live music on Sundays for brunch. We'll be back again and again.....
Overpriced and low quality.

Excellent in every way. Going again today. Looking forward to hosting a large brunch there in October.

Awesome eggs benedict. Nice addition to the many places that I will return to when back in San Diego.

We were able to enjoy dinner in the dining room by the fire. Omar was our server and he was fantastic with helping us make selections. We enjoyed the Rosebud and Smoked Old Fashioned. We also shared oysters, the scallops(cooked to perfection) lobster Mac and cheese and the Noble Garden salad. We completed our meal with the Sticky Toffee for dessert. We hoped to come back next time we are in San Diego
Great views but not the best service. Saw our waiter two times only; once to take our order and second time to when he came around with our bill.

Slow service, understaffed. Many wines missing on the wine list... added 30 min going back and forth
This is a gorgeous setting with great service, however, the drinks were horrible, honestly the worst I have ever had. So acidic and....just horrible, that I could not drink them. The food, as well, except for the salads, was sub par. I found it surprising that a place with so much potential was not good. I would go back for the atmosphere and service and have a salad, but would definitely not order a mixed drink or any other food.
