This was my first time trying this restaurant, and I loved it. We ordered all the dishes and shared among three people, which was plenty for everyone. Everything was full of flavor, and the service couldn’t have been better. We’re already looking forward to coming back to try the brunch menu.

The dining experience at Alchemy is truly something special. We arrived in the early evening on Thursday which ended up being the perfect time to grab drinks & admire the environment around us. The patio is beautiful and there are heaters as well. Every menu item was unique, homemade, and delicious. The lamb tetalas with mole were outstanding and the zarandeado was so good that we ordered it twice. The owners/chefs are very kind and knowledgeable; so much passion and creativity goes into their work here.

There is free parking around the building - we found parking a short 2 min walk away. If your party is larger or it’s a busy night, I would recommend making a reservation as it’s quite an intimate space.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant, and I must say, the food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was a flavor explosion, but the tételas truly stole the show. These corn masa dumplings were perfectly seasoned and had a delightful texture. The accompanying salsas added a fresh and spicy kick that complemented the tételas beautifully. If you’re a fan of authentic Mexican cuisine, you won’t want to miss out on these tételas. They are a must try and will leave you craving more!

It is a delicious experience to try something different with a fresh, natural and palatable flavor and presented with elegance and good taste. Their non-alcoholic drinks are a gift to the palate as are their majestic wines.

Absolutely blown away by Alchemy! From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was perfect, the staff was incredibly attentive, and the food was simply divine. The Shrimp Zarandeado was a flavor explosion, and the Michelada paired perfectly. A truly unforgettable dining experience. Can't wait to come back!

Such a great experience dining here! The food was unique and delicious, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I tried the Aguachile Negro and the Tetelas, both were amazing and so flavorful! The cocktails were extraordinary and paired very well with the food. The restaurant itself has beautiful decor and a great ambiance. I would definitely recommend dining here and I plan on returning to try more of the menu!

You’ll find yourself stopping here just to try the food and realize that Alchemy is well worth adding to your shortlist of favorite restaurants in San Diego. The cuisine is elevated Mexican street food that’ll leave you very pleased you stopped by.

I wish I could’ve tried the whole menu, but I know I’ll be back soon to try the rest. We got the Augachile Negro short rib, the Shrimp Zarandeado, and the fresh bluefin tuna Crudo. All of the dishes were spectacular. My favorite being the Shrimp Zarandeado with my second favorite as the Crudo. I’m not much of a meat eater but the short rib was delicious and my favorite part was the Augachile Negro sauce — I basically licked that plate clean. All the drinks are made fresh and full of flavor — these guys know what they’re doing.

I met the owner’s Juan and Eddy when they were just a pop-up vendor at various venues in the San Diego area, known as the Barracrudo Boys. I knew immediately after I tried their pop up menu that they were destined for success. When they told me they were opening a brick and mortar I knew they were gonna blow people’s minds and tastebuds away. This restaurant has been at the top of my highly anticipated new restaurants opening list and it definitely did not disappoint!

Run, don’t walk! The guys behind Alchemy- Choose Thy Poison have the whole package and are sure leave their guests happy and awaiting their next visit. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for these amazing chefs & owners. 🔥
