Decent but not remarkable starchy traditional Italian fare on the pricy side ($25 for spaghetti & meatballs, $28 for lasagna). Table service is decent but kitchen somewhat slow (45 min wait for entrees after salad service). I'm not eager about returning.Parking: Residential area with a smattering of available parking spaces. Only around 6 spaces in the restaurant parking lot.

Been several times and always a wonderful dining experience. Perfect for date night. Katherine at the front went above and beyond to make it a special night. Tyler behind the bar was great. Love Alexander’s!!

Let’s be honest. There’s a LOT of places in San Diego to get Italian food. But Alexander’s is the best.I don’t make the rules. But I’ll explain why.Alexander’s consistently has very tasty dishes (and, admittedly, we’ve eaten here way too many times and have tried a lot of them). The service is always great. Whoever is the hiring manager here, clearly has a magic touch. Every member of staff here is personable, approachable, efficient, and great at what they do.And the vibe here, is really just perfect. We enjoy the back patio most. It’s elegant but not so over the top—and honestly, in a city where every place is trying to be a flashy, in your face “aesthetic,” Alexanders just delivers a beautiful tasteful atmosphere that can honestly handle anything.Need a place to take a date? It’s a great spot for that. Taking a client to dinner? Also great for that. Maybe you’re just wanting to enjoy a nice meal with friends and you want to eat someplace nice but not feel obligated to bust out the formal shoes. Alexanders. Perfect. We’ve been here so many times, the food and service is always consistently great. The selection of movies they have playing in black and white is also a favorite added touch. We absolutely adore this place. And everyone we’ve ever brought here has too.

Wow heard about Alexander's and went there after my wife's Art on 30th show. Unbelievable italian and we will be going back frequently. None of our meals weren’t anything but fantastic! Now parking is another thing - uber if you can.

Traditional Italian food, affordable and delicious. 100% Dog friendly, and easy going yet attentive staff. Bruschetta was tasteful and portion sizes were perfect. Great neighborhood location and our birthday dessert was on the house. Jacob was a patient and knowledgeable waiter.

Alexanders is a beautiful venue with a great atmosphere. However, the food was a bit disappointing.Serving sizes are huge which is a plus, but the food itself was nothing special, and we left feeling like I drank a bottle of oil.The best Italian food is simple and lets the quality of the ingredients speak for themselves, this menu wasn't that. But if you want a full stomach and a nice venue, it's not bad. But if you want quality and flavor, try dominos instead.

We've never visited the neighborhood in which Alexander's is located. It is cool, funky and absolutely perfect for a restaurant of the quality we experienced at Alexander's. We had a big party of 8, celebrating our daughters' who attend SDSU nearby. The waiter handled our orders perfectly, and the food, drinks and dessert were just outstanding. We will return as often as we can. With such a large menu, there is so much to try! Thank you for such a lovely evening. The only challenge is parking, which we ultimately found a few blocks back from the restaurant!

A little noisy inside but staff was excellent. Sauce on pasta items a little bit too much. Fish dish was very good. Maybe more wine selections would be good. Good experience overall ?

Great place. Food is good and service is attentive. A bit noisy but not too bad. My only negative is that bread used to come with meals and it was good. Now they charge for it, which is fine, but it was dry and not so fresh. Otherwise, one of my favorite places.

My fiance and I celebrated our engagement at Alexander's, and the staff made it so special. They greeted us with free champagne and were so kind throughout our meal. The ambiance was stunning— the perfect romantic setting. Food was out of this world! We got a meatball pizza, lasagna, and shrimp scampi. I'm already excited to return. Highly recommend!

We enjoyed our meal and the services was great! Our table location was less than to be desited. It was right next to the open kitchen which was loud with conversation and the banging of pots and pans.

I've seen Alexander's in the neighborhood and decided on a girls night here Thursday evening. It did not disappoint! Service was delightful and accommodating. Food was ample and delicious. Ambiance inside was warm and welcoming-we sat at a booth with high leather cushions. Favorite dishes were the meatballs and accompanying bread, spicy Caesar salad and pink penne pasta. We shared a bottle of Tuscany red and had the homemade cookie topped with ice cream for dessert. Lovely time, will go again!

We had a birthday party of 9 people and the staff was so patient with us in regards to all the questions about the menu. The ambiance outside was incredible and I cannot wait to come back. Again greatly appreciate the amazing staff
