Simply incredible! Easily the best alfajores that I’ve had in the states. On par or better than the best alfajores from Argentina as well. Both the chocolate covered and maicena are well worth it
I never had burned cheesecake and handmade Alfajores before. But when I tried, I absolutely loved them, not just me, but my friends as well. I already went back to get another burned cheesecake. Valery is very kind and for sure a talented baker. I hope her bakeries can get much more appreciation through the time. You all need to try it, otherwise you’ll regret for sure!
Went to the La Jolla farmers market today and grabbed some alfajores, a slice of mango tart, and a slice of basque cheesecake. The goods look amazing and taste even better! If you have the chance I highly recommend stopping by Valery's table at the market.
They are way more than a cupcake shop! The avocado toast was delicious. Other faves: the sausage biscuit sandwich, bagel sandwiches and for dessert don’t miss the key lime pie!
After sampling at a farmers market, we ordered these for our daughters wedding!! Absolutely delicious, fresh and beautiful cookies!! Highly recommend!!
delicious pastries! her basque cheesecake & russian honey cake are the best!
Nothing notes a successful market trip than a happy belly with a noteworthy find. We ended off our quick impromptu San Diego trip with a walk down the infamous Little Italy Farmers Market. This is where we found the cute little pink tables with a small huddle of people even through the tail end of market hours. They had on display what seemed to be 2 gigantic slabs of dessert to what we quickly came to realize was 2 contrasting choices. A burnt basque cheesecake, and a russian honey cake, with each piece running for $8 a slice. Going by instinct and sheep mentality, we opted for a slice of the honey cake. We’ve had this a handful of times here and there from no significant bakery but when you get a bite of Alfa’s you’ll notice the care and detail that goes into each layer. Super moist, decadent and buttery, the layers of cake with the balance of each layered buttercream blanket makes each bite come out as amazing as the first. We felt shorted as we had walked a mile away from the stall and didn’t get a chance to try more of their goodies. But with just a slice of cake, this little stall made an immense impression and has definitely won us over all the way from Orange County. When we’re in and around San Diego again, this is on the top of my bookmarked list!

EVERYTHING she touches turns to GOLD
I rarely write google reviews because I yelp but however I have to give this bakery 5 stars. Let me tell you how I stumbled upon a little bakery that gives you an exciting feeling when you eat it, to me I felt like a kid finding a treasure! I’ve been in San Diego a little under a month and honestly I thought this city was a typical city where people were rude and always in a rush. I come from an island where we treat each other with “Aloha.” Originally from a big major city, the last decade I’ve lived on an island. San Diego is an amazing city with surprisingly amazing people! This was my first farmers market. I had just finished a 3 mile hike and was a little hungry so I figure why not walk more, I can burn calories and eat. I thought it would be the typical hustle and bustle with major crowds especially in Little Italy. If you are not in a rush - I recommend to come here. SUPPORT LOCAL (I’m all about it!) So Alfajores Bakery has a tent at the end on Date Street near Cedar Street (they may move not sure if they are in the same spot ??). I was walking through and well I LOVE food all kinds of it. The presentation caught my eye. It was neat, clean, and honestly it looked like heaven in my mouth ? I walked up to a lady (turned out she was the owner) and asked her what kind of sweets these were. She told me it was Argentinian and she already had me at Argentina just because in Hawaii we don’t get that type of ethnic food (that’s legit) and it already sounded exotic to me. She took her time and explained each flavor. I even asked her what the most popular one was and which was her favorite. She said the popular one was Alfajores de Maicena (I think I may have gotten the name wrong) but her favorite was the traditional chocolate. I went with the popular vote, said thank you and walked the whole Farmers Market twice. As I walked away I decided to eat it. As I bit into it, the cookie had a crisp exterior but crumbled and melted in my mouth. It was the PERFECT type of sweet, not too sweet but just right and light. I was so content that I had to walk back and tell her how delicious it was. I found out the lady I spoke with was the owner and she was working with her daughter. I not only loved my customer experience, the cookie, but also loved the fact that you can tell they put tender, love, and care when making these. Long story short I’m coming back. You have got to try this bakery- you cant go wrong.***updates***Well I had to go back home unexpectedly and decided to take two packs of 6 back to Hawaii. It was a hit and my friends loved it! They were so impressed with just the box and presentation ? however they shared the same love for it as I did!!! Great for presents!!!!

The very best bakery in all of San Diego! <3 These confections are my life!!! They are melt in your mouth delicious and simply the perfect sweetness. The sorghum tahini and orange blossom alfajores are my favorite. Thank you so much for the most divine cookie there has ever been! :)
