Went at 8:30 am and they were sold out of the brown butter latte and only had decaf left…hard to believe they sold out of everything within an hour and a half. Also, the cashier was rude and didn’t even acknowledge me at first just to tell me, rudely, that everything was sold out. Wish I could give 0 stars

I went for a few grocery items and then stopped at the bakery. Bought two different varieties of cookies, oatmeal sandwich cookie and a Raspberry crinkle thumbprint??? Both of them were rock hard. The oatmeal tasted fine. The Raspberry had a lemon flavor in it that was so awful it tasted like a cleaning product. I won’t buy bakery items again they’re always very disappointing.

Worst Whole Foods ever! The prepared food was sparse and all looked old. The wine section was equivalent to what a 20 something would only want to get drunk off of. Save your real shopping for somewhere else.

1. Bakery staff in Lajolla, though ignorant about any ingredients in the products, are, at least friendly. Hillcrest, I dont even waste time asking anything, such unfriendly nearly hostile unhappy staff, esp the young guy with brown hair who cant be bothered to even think if you ask him a question. ...ALSO , even at 10 A.M. there is RARELY any Whole Grain bread, its all white bread. They used to have Prussian Rye, rarely now. LJ they have many whole grain breads. This was a great store 20 years ago. Thanks Bezos..On the other hand meat, fish, produce, body care, chinese food guys are always very helpful and pleasant....Deli and Breard, not so much...

They have a great selection of pizzas. All their pizzas can be made Vegan. Roque in the deli/ pizza area is amazing!. He takes great care to prepare the pizzas well and pays great attention to detail. I noticed that their menu is not online so I am posting it here

Only went here because it was rainy and there was no street parking near any restaurant. Food was in the back of the store and had limited choices. Most things were not appealing for dinner and ended up choosing pizza. It was cold and not enjoyable.

As other people have already written, I also suffered from RACISM in this place after 9 pm. I talked to a supervisor and he told me that the guard who was pursuing me across the store would be advised on a proper approach to custumers and clients. I live near the place and it is easier for me to go there. Tonight, although I was not pursued, I faced another disrespectful situation: tree men on the meat place laughed at me twice when I passed in front of them (the situation is illogical, for they should be working instead of being expressing TRANSPHOBIA). In general, the staff is helpful. Some groceries are more expensive than other places. The store is situated in one of the most open-minded places I have ever been to, but I have a quite ironic suggestion in that regard: if you are black, trans feminine, or 'different' and have other options to buy your things, it would not be a bad idea thinking twice before going there.

With all the restaurants in Hillcrest, it may not be the best idea to eat here. We had just arrived and wanted some supplies, food and fruit and then decided to have a little hot food to tide us over. Cannot rave about what we had. After we visited the Trader Joe's, we will probably shop instead.

Visited often to pick things up on our trip to San Diego... Nice, familiar and reliable -- just what I appreciate in a Whole Foods (always so happy to have one nearby on trips)... however would like to see more hot food items at this location (veggies etc)

They had what I needed, so I got it. 👌👍😊 The end...for now...
