If I could get a 0 I would. On 08/30/25 at 8:00pm, I contacted this restaurant informing them about a party walking to their restaurant. We are not from the area and had kids just finishing a game and were looking at eating somewhere. They stated they could not accommodate us even if we were split up. They told us to go somewhere else to eat…. Found out they had 1 family eating there because someone was waiting for us there.. This was very unprofessional for a weekend, especially Labor Day weekend. Will never go there again and will tell people not to ever go there!
Nice & quiet spot, good food, great service, friendly staff & chill atmosphere 👌

We decided to give the Amigo Spot another try since we were staying at the motel where it is located. We had a bad experience the first time we tried it a couple years ago but we were too tired to look for another restaurant.
It was taco Tuesday. We thought who could mess up tacos. Well, they were terrible. We got two orders of tacos and multitas. The tortillas were so thick and hard to bite into. They were like thick shoe leather. We had to take the filling out to eat it. The meat was tasteless and extremely dry. It was not edible. The chips were stale, like they came out of an open bag that had been there a few days. The salsa had a very strange taste and had little bubbles. I’m glad we only tasted it. To put it bluntly, they need to go out of business and let a well run restaurant take over. The ambiance is so old and looks dirty. The staff was nice but there were only two families in this huge restaurant. We will never eat here again. It’s not worth a dime.
The motel is worth staying and the waffle spot was five star. I wish they were open through dinner hours.

Very cozy restaurant in the heart of mission valley. The food is good and the menu has a wide variety of options. They have great Mexican food and American options like burgers, potato skins, and chicken. The drinks are strong and the happy hour specials are great.

This is inside the hotel and if you stay at the Kings Inn you get a little discount.
But anyways...
The service was great, everyone was very kind and attentive. We did Come a little later, like 730pm so it wasn't very busy.
The dinner was great though, awesome portions and did not take away from the flavor. I got the fish and chips and they were good! My partner got the California burrito and literally cleaned his dish!

If I could give 10 stars for service I would. The bartender with the dark hair was so friendly and helpful. The food was amazing and he pulled double duty as bartender (drinks were delicious) and as our waiter/server. Recommend this place, and if he's working that night youre in for a great experience.

We were exited to try this spot after seeing pictures and reviews. I ordered a margarita and it was the worst I’ve had in my lifetime. It didn’t taste like there was ANY alcohol and I think it’s an accurate assumption. If you’ve ever had a Skinny Girl Margarita you know they are gross and taste like limeaid. Ew.
Onto the dinners. One fish and steam vegetables the other chicken tacos. Steamed vegetables were undercooked, raw, and hard. My traveling companion left them on the side. Fish was good.
My chicken tacos were anticlimactic. Dark shredded chick with cheese only. No flavoring, seasoning, sauce, or limes. Just a flavorless dark chicken with a pile of cheese. I left my 2nd taco because it wasn’t worth the calories. My side of rice was good and edible.
Service was not good. We asked for a check and our waiter was chatting up another table, running plates before he came back and had forgotten we even asked for the check. We easily waited 15 minutes from the time we asked for the check to the 2nd time we asked for it. Also, when you have that much food left on your plates and a drink 3/4 full you should inquire about to because clearly something is off.
There are so many amazing Mexican restaurants in the area unfortunately this one isn’t one. All of the places we’ve eaten at while in San Diego were phenomenal except here. Best bet is just go to Old Town if you want Mexican food. This place is not worth the money.

Nice restaurant in a very much uninteresting part of town. Mexican food, Mexican drinks, and very friendly Mexican staff. Nice menu with many options. Food is ready within 5 minutes from ordering which gives the impression it has been heated up. Tastes good though. Prices also very acceptable. Overall good experience.

Food came in minutes. Though place was busy The enchiladas were ice cold. Service not very good. Not totally the waiter fault. Ordered a beer ,never came. As stated food came very fast. 5 minutes before I could get the waiter and say where is my beer. He said surprised how fast food came. Basically was done eating by time food came. All in all very poor experience. Went there thinking it would be better than tourist main part of Old Town. I was wrong. Just as over priced. And poor execution .

The people who say this food is authentic are probably from North Dakota. Sorry North Dakota, but this food is not authentic nor near it. Horrible, meat is obviously frozen, real low quality. Do not eat here. I've tried it three times and believe me the third time is not a charm.
