I was looking for dessert and I found this place on Google. I was mostly attracted by it because of the name. We had to wait quite a while. Once we got inside I understood why. There are two people helping customers, and they give everyone they help a sample of the flavors they have and give a little explanation, which I thought that was cool . Great customer service .

Alright so I went here because it’s the “#1 ranked ice cream in the country” I went at 5pm on a Saturday night. With about 20 people ahead of me it took 45-60min. It’s takes so long because every person does a flavor sampling of their 8 flavors before deciding as the workers talk you about your day and how you are doing, for the experience. It also creates this artificial wait and line probably for marketing.
The Pros
The flavors are all unique

The cons
Minimal parking
Inflated long lines because of sampling
No classic flavors
No topping options and they don’t have sundaes
Minimal seating inside

If they just had 1 line for the sampling people and 1 line for people who are ready to order it would be helpful, but honestly since there aren’t classic flavors i wouldn’t come back anyway.

Can I say any more of what's already been said? I don't believe so. Believe the hype, remember it's gelato and not ice cream, so you don't have to compare it to all the other wonderful options here in san diego, just go and enjoy the ride.

They had a couple of vegan flavors.
Absolutely loved the raspberry (ayam) and macadamia nut (barkcloth). Both vegan and absolutely delightful.

OMG DELICIOUS! I'm excited I finally was able to try this place. They change their flavors every 2-3 weeks, so I will definitely be going back. It was our first time there and they had us try every flavor they offered. They didn't even ask, which was perfect because I wanted to try them all. Staff was super friendly. Due to everyone trying every flavor, there is a small wait, BUT the wait is so worth it. Really, we only waited for about 15 minutes, it went by pretty quick. I got the "Crushed Velvet" (raspberry and rose water) with "Box of Chocolates" (crimson cacao, white chocolate chunks, strawberries). My husband got the "Termeh" (saffron, pistachios, vanilla) with "Vicuna Wool" (goat cheese, apricot, saffron). All the ingredients are so fresh and the flavors are spot on and so unique. Really was hard choosing 2. One of the best Gelatos I have ever had. I would recommend this place to everyone. I'll be talking about this until I go back.

Good flavors and cones are thick. The icecream was a little icey textured.. plus the wait was long and then by the time we got closer they let people make a second line if they wanted only a few samples.. so I guess it’s just a newbie mistake but felt for people waiting 45 min. Then others just skipped to the front. Anyhow over all good.

Good but I was expecting more

Long line but yeah… at the end of the day.. it’s still just ice cream.

I finally got to try An’s ice cream!! There is almost always a long line so I never got to try it. My boyfriend and I were having food next door and noticed they didn’t have a line so we went inside to check it out. We had the pleasure of getting help from Mac, he told us he would take us on an ice cream flavor tour so we got to try all of the ice creams so we could pick our favorite ones. Mac was so sweet, helpful and very patient when we were trying to pick out our two flavors. Thank you Mac for making our first time to An’s fun and memorable.

Very creamy ice-cream. The best part is that they keep it fresh with new flavors every month. Pro tip: It gets busy at night, so I recommend going in the afternoon to avoid big lines. The longest I’ve waited outside has been 30mins

During my recent visit to An's Dry Cleaning Gelato in San Diego, I was thoroughly impressed by their exceptional offerings. It's no surprise that USA Today recognized them as the best independent ice cream shop in the country.

Despite the long lines, which often stretch over a block, the wait was well worth it. Arriving early, I found about ten people ahead of me, but the efficient and friendly staff ensured the line moved quickly. The unique backstory of transforming a former dry cleaning shop into a gelato haven adds to its charm, and the quirky decor pays homage to its origins.

The gelato itself is outstanding, featuring inventive and delicious flavor combinations that are both unique and delightful. Each visit offers a new taste adventure, making it a must-visit spot for gelato enthusiasts.
