Tacos Asadero was recommended to us by a team of Mexican construction workers remodeling our house - and yup! - if you want excellent, authentic Mexican cuisine, Asadero is the place! El Ranchito in Poway has been our go-to for years, but we'll definitely be going back to Asadero. They've got some great offerings beyond the standard gringo fare that we're used to (carnitas, carne asada, etc.) Tried and loved their birria w/consomé, buche and adobada tacos.

My burrito was a bit light on guac and just ok overall. Expensive too at $20 but had a generous amount of meat in it. Service was great

In my opinion this is the closest you can get to a tacos el gordo type of taco in the area. It's not the same but some of the meats taste fairly similar and are very satisfying. It wasn't easy for me as someone who doesn't live in the area to find some good street style tacos. Prices are a bit steep but most tacos aren't as cheap anymore but the food is still worth it. 👍

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the inside is clean, well decorated and the food is amazing. The staff is attentive and delivers a great experience. It's definitely worth trying it out. Real authentic Mexican taco flavor and one of my favorite places to get that taco fix.

Expensive food not up to par. 20 bucks for a burrito? Are you kidding me!?

Response to owner's response:

My comment that your food was not up to par was a dig on your terrible food. I was trying to be nice but since you want me to elaborate I will...The spices were not apparent; the tortilla was dry and unevenly cooked, the meat was mediocre, the sauces provided were not hot, watery and gross. Taco Bell is better than this place.

And your comment about how "expensive" things have gotten...Yeah, I can go to any other burrito place that's 10 times better and pay 12 bucks. So quit it with your prices are higher bull, you're just trying to rip off the average American with your terrible food. Go to TJ, takes some lessons, and make some real food and lower your prices.
