The food was excellent. It took way too long to come tho. Ambience is not great, it is just a simple cafe and there are very few tables.

Very clean, lots of choices on the menu and it has a little market and liquor. They are super nice. I really like the energy here.

Absolutely amazing experience with friendly above and beyond staff. Our server helped us order the best food for us and even sat with us and showed us the best way to eat it! 10/10 will be repeat customers . We got the meat sambusa, meat combo, veggie combo, and awash special tibs - spicy . We almost ate everything between the 4 of us, and def took the rest home.

Authentic Ethiopian food. Owner is super nice. Food is excellent. Dry ribs, tibs, veggie combo are my gotos. They do have 100% teff injera. Very fun family style meal.

This place was sooo bad I'm not kidding as someone who was actually ate Ethiopian food this was disappointing there was barely any thing with three people it was mostly just injera and there was no fresh water I had to wait nearly 31 minutes my sister had a timer on her phone and after all this I had to pay 35.41$ oh hell nah I'm never coming here again.

Came here on a Saturday evening around 7 pm and got seated right away. By the time we left, every table in the front was full.
Food: We got two meat combos, awaze tibs, collard greens, and split peas. The veggies were both yummy and fresh! ALL of the meat except for the tibs came out lukewarm, and the injera was cold... not room temp—cold. SUPER disappointing and totally ruined my first experience with Ethiopian food. There were different flavors for each meat in the combo, and if the food was served at the proper temperature, it would have been way more fun and enjoyable trying each one.
As mentioned, only the tibs came out hot. They also seemed fresher than the meat from the combos. The flavor was really delicious and the meat was perfectly tender, so this gave me some hope that this place does have good food.
Honestly, I was shocked by the subpar food quality, especially with all the great reviews. I specifially came here because it's often recommended and has a reputation as the best Ethiopian spot around.
Service: The two people running the front—a man and a woman—were REALLY nice, but they were seriously understaffed, making for a pretty bad dining experience. They were taking orders, running food, probably cooking in the kitchen, and manning the store register. Two people handling front of house on a Saturday night is just crazy. I had to ask twice for water and even got up to ask for napkins. My food was dropped off, and no one checked on us afterward—they just kept rushing past, hard to flag down. After about 15-20 minutes of sitting with finished food in front of us, I had to get up to ask for the check, then waited another 5 minutes to close out.
I checked several Google reviews before coming, and people often mention how great the service is, so I’m disappointed I can't say the same, especially since they were so nice. Regardless of kindness, this should not be the diner's experience when upwards $100.
Atmosphere: Don't come here expecting vibes or anything fancy. It’s part restaurant, part store—more of a 'hole in the wall' experience, which I’m usually fine with if the food is good. They had a TV playing Ethiopian music videos in the restaurant area. This is a family friendly restaurant for sure, because I was seated directly next to a family with a screaming infant and toddler.
The single person unisex bathroom was pretty gross and could use some maintenance and better upkeep. I hope this isn't the same bathroom staff are using since they're handling our food.
Overall, I won't be back anytime soon because of the cold food and the poor service. I wouldn’t recommend it to others either. Hopefully, it was just an off night, and others have a better experience.

I took a friend to Awash restaurant for a late lunch. It was my first time and wanted to eat injera, rhe Ethiopian fermented flat bread. Other than that, I didn't know what to expect. The owner was courteous, but the service was slow. There were only two servers - him and another lady.
My friend and I ordered one tilapia order #25 and one collard greens side order (a little pricey for a side-order - $8.99).
However, when the meal came. It was more than we could eat and quite delicious, too. He even added us more injera. We took home enough leftover for one meal. Glad I want there and I'll be back.
Vegetarian options: Yes, there are vegetarian choice, but meat dominates the menu

ITS TOO OVERPRICED, BAD & SLOW CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY DONT FOLLOW ORDERS & ITS NOT TASTY. AND THEY CHARGED ME EXTRA FOR ENJERA WITHOUT TELLING ME A HEAD OF TIME & IT DOESN'T TASTE LIKE ITS TEFF ENJERA EITHER.
