This place is amazing! All the things we ordered were incredible… decadent and complex, without being cloyingly sweet. All the flavors in each item are balanced so well! I would try anything, knowing it will be delicious. The Cielo Limon cake which is lemon and pistachio is my favorite so far. Can’t wait to come back again.

Azucar makes delicious, creative and beautiful cakes and pastries for any special occasion or just for no reason. I love the guava pastries they have.
Checked out Azucar on a Saturday morning. Because it was early, parking wasn’t a problem but it can be a nightmare depending on when you go. Five minutes before opening, there was already a line out the door and after trying their pastries, I can understand why. Line moved pretty quickly and our food came out after 5-10 minutes. There were a few outside tables that can seat 4-6 and there were many 2 person tables inside. Pretty pricey for each item but worth it.
I enjoyed their:
-Guava and Cheese pastry ($3.75)
-Cheese roll ($3.75): we don’t have a Porto’s nearby so I love that we have this availability here. I wanna say Azucar’s cheese roll is a little heavier than Porto’s and the crust on the pasty was nice and crunchy.
-Cinco Leches: so sweet but so good
-Pastelito De Carne ($3.75): this was my most favorite item and what will make me continue coming back to this place. I have to say that this might be the best meat pie that I’ve tried— flaky pastry (was still good after air frying at home) and the ground beef is so juicy and flavorful!

Guava pastelito and the raspberry passion fruit scone flavors were incredible. The fruit flavors were very punchy in the best way possible. Note that you can’t order the sandwiches until after 11 am and there’s a line up that starts before 11 am for the sandwiches. Staff were friendly and kind.

Cute. Cozy. Local cafe serving Cuban coffee and pastries like guava cheese danishes, Cuban pie and even gluten free. They have Cafe con leche that tastes just like they do it in Miami (I’ve never been to Cuba). Great location in old Ocean Beach. I walked over after shopping at Target. Desserts are so yummy and look pretty too.

So happy to have stumbled upon this gem. If I lived in the neighborhood I would go here weekly. Pastries were phenomenal. We had the guava cheese and a peach and pistachio pastry. The strong and sweet Cuban coffee made this quite an indulgent breakfast! Hopefully I can come back here someday.

Love the coffee & pastries! Finally tried some of their sandwhiches for the first time after going here for awhile. I got the cubano and it was just *chefs kiss*. I haven't had one since the Embargo Grill on West Point Loma closed. I love how they get the bread so crispy! Anyway, my favorite pastries include the champagne peach scone, mojito cookie, & the sea salt toffee cookie! Anything out of the cold case is a plus.

Delicious food well worth the price! Kind employees and well stocked bakery cases! Pictured is the Chocolate Croissant, Turron, and Raspberry Passion Fruit Scone. I also had a Cuban Sandwich with potato and onion which was delicious! My favorite thing hands-down was the Turron. It's a hazelnut caramel chocolate slice of heaven, so good! If I could, I'd order it for my birthday cake.
