Management changed a few months back and there were some major changes in menu items and salsa quality. It's a real bummer because this used to be my go-to spot for over a decade.

I ordered 4 rolled beef tacos with everything, and it was pretty dry, and the flavor just really wasn't very good. The service wasn't anything great, and it was freezing inside this Mexican restaurant.

I found bahia restaurant a few years ago doing a construction project in the neighborhood. I've lived in San diego all of my 47 years and have never had a carne asada burrito like this, other than South of the border. Order it with guacamole only and add some of their homemade Chipotle salsa and a little lime juice. The asada is so tender and usually cooked perfectly. The people working there are really nice. Prices are great.I picked up my usual order tonight and I'm subtracting a star because disappointingly, it missed the mark. The pieces of asada were really small and it was super salty and overcooked. I do like a little sear and carmelization on asada, but this was beyond that to the point the meat was actually crunchy, which was not enjoyable to try and get through. I'd ask that they watch how much the asada is being cooked on the flat top and maybe pull it off sooner.Bigger pieces of asada would hold a sear and also be tender in the past. Small seared pieces just turn crunchy.Definitely worth a try though. Might have just been an off night.

The best hole in the wall Mexican restaurant... It is a powerhouse of good quality food. Everything on the menu is prepared with love and care.. we got the carne asada nachos, 3 rolled taquito plate, street tacos for taco Tuesday, and shrimp tostadas. Everything was really well made and delicious!Ate as much as I wanted to pig out without any tummy troubles (which is common after aot of Mexican) next day. Not with Bahia... There food quality is supreme!!

I am super impressed with the food and service here. I got the Bahia Bowl w/ carne asada & potato and wow. It’s cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. I’m very picky about potatoes and they were cooked perfectly. The lady at the service counter was sweet as can be. Plus, the prices are affordable and the portions are large.

I have great experiences here, so I am sad to read the negative reviews. I’m here 2 to 3 times a week picking up something. I love that I can get food made to order as I like. They bend over backwards making sure that I’m happy with what I got. So anyone who is unhappy with what they got, they should just ask them to replace it. The owner is very willing to see her customers are content.Vegetarian options: I recommend for vegetarians. They custom make you something that you want. Staples of vegetarian, food are rice, beans, vegetables, guacamole, cheese and salsa. So it depends on your expectations. I was quite happy with vegetarian items I got. And their salsa bar is very good. It also has fresh lime sections, and four different types of salsa. Many Small Mexican restaurants in our area, but the people around my area really like Bahia. And most things I order turn into two meals. Great value for money in this super expensive city.Parking: It’s in a small strip mall. No trouble finding a spot. There is parking along the front of the shops and on the street.Kid-friendliness: They welcome everyone there. Not a fancy place at all, but tables are painted and it’s homey. The owner and staff are super friendly and work really hard. I love to support local business.

1st time eating here. The lady was very nice. I left 20% tip...I was hungry, it was hot, I wanted to get something to eat & go home. I feel that some of these kinda fastish-food restaurants sense how you are a "vulnerable" customer when we walk-into their restaurants...& they can send you home with whatever "mush" they throw-together KNOWING there ain't NOTHN' we can do about it...As long as... 》 》 》 the "nachos supreme" look(ed) & smell(ed) delicious...As I got further into this heap of a meal (portion was great) in the comfort of my kitchen-table...the chips tasted VERY STALE...I should have just ordered a taco & been done w/it. I mean, come-on STALE CHIPS?? LIKE REALLY?????This DEFINITELY put Mexican food in SD to the LOWEST point...my friends & family will be hearing about this "spot" for sure! But when we are in our "vulnerable" state of exhaustion & hunger...quote everything I said above again...Now, 2ish hrs later & I am NAUSEOUS?& REALIZING it WAS OLD FOOD...DESPITE the "good" whatever was on-top. It was loaded w/beef, lotsa tomatoes, etc...I give them that...?

Good food...Ive been here only once and got a breakfast burrito. It was good...size was big also. I have one little problem and it's a ME problem and I understand that. If you use a credit there is a fee for that...I don't like being nickle and dimed. Just build into the cost of the food and that's that. I also understand its their business and they can do what they want. Again a ME issue. Other than that great food.
