Baja Oyster and Sushi Bar

While the service and attention was impeccable the food was very different than any sushi or Mexican we've ever had. Even the more traditional sushi rolls were not quite the same. The menus were all in Spanish so it was a guessing game till we realized they had English ones. The food was just OK.

Awful customer service waited 30 minutes only to be told they couldnt sit my family

The raw oysters are fresh and amazing!!

Waited 30 minutes in an almost empty restaurant no one came. We left.

Everything was delicious. Campechana, shrimp tostada & shrimp taco.

There's nothing special about this place, is very basic. The rolls I ordered were falling apart and the shrimp roll had had only 6 pieces. Since I got here I haven't been ask if I want another beer so the service is poor. The food doesn't taste so good, I'm not the only one complaining. The receipt was not itemized so we were possibly charged more. Notice how they added the tip automatically, poor customer service doesn't get a tip PERIOD. You're better going off to downtown SD for better quality and better service. The plates here are not that good looking, proofs in the pictures... don't waste your time, value yourself!!!!

Baja Oyster & Sushi Bar may take the crown when comes to their assorted delicious shrimp and seafood burritos next to Rosarito, Mexico, BUT, I must say, my family, friends, and coworkers have all agreed that their servers need to step it up a notch or two. My experience with most have been average and ranked low on attentiveness. If you’re not a large group of 4 or more, expect average to below standard service. Rarely do the servers exceed my expectation, so I don’t get bothered or get upset anymore. I come to this restaurant because I like their seafood, sushi, and the atmosphere. I’ve been coming to Baja Oyster since 2009.

So back to service….
I recall a male server name Jose - best server ever at this restaurant. Where has he been?! Jose was pleasant, friendly, he followed up, he asked how our meal and drinks were, he appeared caring, he multi-tasked, and he went through the motion like a top server does. Most importantly, he was consistent with all customers. Busy day or not, Jose always served with a smile.

Upon entry, there was always a greeter and rarely did we wait for a table that seated 2-4 persons.

Overall, Baja Oyster has my thumbs up. I can’t think of any dish on the menu that’s not good. I’m a creature of habit, so I stick to my shrimp and seafood burrito mix, shrimp ceviche and campenchana mix. Others that I have dined with, loved their sushi rolls and agua chile dish, this is just to name a few.

Love their food! Can’t get enough of it😋 everything i’ve eaten here is just delicious yummy yummy to my tummy! Oysters are so good n fresh not to mention the Micheladas a must … see ya soon💪🏼💪🏼

Parking: No worries plenty of parking … even if you go across the street to Manolos… shhhh didn’t hear it from me😜

I got the oyster Rockefeller, 1 fish taco, and rice.
The oysters were made weird. It had like an Alfredo sauce. I was not a fan. And there wasn't much flavor to the rice.
