Came here for lunch with my husband, and he ordered the Ricks Burger and I got the Steak and Pepper burrito. Both items were absolutely delicious, and piping hot. My only gripe is that they were also both very wet and messy to eat. The grease actually overflowed in the corner of my burrito basket, spilled on the table, and dripped on my jeans. Had to break out the Tide Pen real quick!
Like I said, flavors and food were delicious, but might need a lot of napkins (or a bib!) if you don't like getting messy.

Went at opening hours, but the restaurant was closed.
Super good
Food is ok I guess, but they gave me the wrong buzzer and I had to wait for 30 extra minutes, ridiculous.

It took 28 minutes for my order to get made. I had to ask twice. And I saw AT LEAST other 5 customers who ordered AFTER me to get their orders before me. And the meal I ordered that was advertised “with lobster” had none on it but I was so tired, hungry and pissed that I just ate what I got a left. And that food was, fine, except for the Mexican rice that was dry and crunchy. Didn’t even finish it. Pretty sure rice is not supposed to be crunchy. I get that places get busy but when AT LEAST 5 customers who ordered after me get their orders first, it’s unacceptable. And it’s getting any stars at all because at least the carne asada was flavorful. Other than that, I won’t be going back and don’t recommend others go either.

Came here for a quick bite with my family and the food was not too bad. We shared some nachos, fried calamari and a bowl.
Fun place will go back

Love this place! Food is TOP NOTCH! While pricey, the chef is incredible! The staff always look happy and are friendly. While you order and then pick up your food (no wait staff), it seems to make things go faster. Sometimes the line can be long to order, but that usually is because there is an event, so plan accordingly. They also always have games on and its RIGHT next to Petco so eating here before or after a game is great! There is plenty of seating, mostly outside which I love. And the restrooms are clean and very nice too. Truly love this place!

Baja Rick’s Cantina is one of those hidden gems that’s incredibly convenient, especially if you’re heading to a Padres game or downtown San Diego. It’s located right next to the trolley station, which makes it super easy to stop by for food or drinks before or after an event. The location alone is hard to beat. you can park once, grab a bite, and then walk right over to Petco Park or hop on the trolley.
The staff here is fantastic. friendly, welcoming, and they really go out of their way to make you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first visit. Service is quick and attentive, which is perfect when you’re on your way to a game or a night out.
The food and drinks are solid, with fair prices that make it a great value, especially considering its prime location. It’s a spot where you can enjoy good portions without breaking the bank, and the atmosphere has a laid-back, local vibe that makes it a fun place to hang out with friends or family.
One thing I really appreciated was the remodeled bathrooms. they are clean, modern, and well maintained, which is a big plus for a busy spot like this. It shows they take pride in keeping the whole place in top shape.
Whether you’re grabbing a quick drink before the Padres game, meeting friends for happy hour, or just looking for a casual spot with good food and great service, Baja Rick’s is a fantastic choice. Between the convenient location, friendly team, and comfortable, clean environment, this place has become one of my go-to stops downtown. Highly recommend checking it out!

Tin Fish was 1000x better. Better food service and what is up with your horrible idea of a bathroom remodel? Sit inside and watch people peeing every time the door opens. Then parade around and have 40 people wash your hands? Dumbest idea I have even seen. Won't be coming back. And have been to tin fish for over a decade.

We tried to patronize Rick's twice. The first time, they were closed even though we went during their posted hours so we could not get in.
The second time, we did get in, had 1 drink and then wanted to order drinks and food and were told they were closing. That was before 6pm, but their hours clearly say they close at 6:30pm. There was never any notice given to patrons that they were going to close early and you would not be able to place an order. The bartender was the opposite of apologetic about the situation, she was actually rude about it.

This is a very fun pre Padre game place with lots of beer pre game specials. I wasn't there for pre game, I wanted to try the lobster tacos. They were tasty but for $21 it was more sized like an appetizer. Very good taste. Look at picture with fork.
