Visiting San Diego for the first time and this brewery was close to our Airbnb. Wish we would’ve gone earlier in our trip because it was excellent! Husband said best beer he’s had all week. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was outstanding (I had Ballast bowl and husband had gourmet hot dog/salad)! The whole staff should be commended for service! Will definitely return!!
Ballast Point - Little Italy is a great spot. Chill vibe, friendly & attentive service (Thank You Brooke & team), awesome beer list, and a delicious menu. Our favorite bites are their Pork Belly Bahn Mi, and their Kim-Cheese Burger. We recommend Ballast Point - Little Italy

First time visit and it did not disappoint. We had the truffle fries and birria nachos. Great stuff. Burgers looked good too.
Really enjoyed the flight of beers.
Love the selection of beers too. First thing you see when you walk in!!
Remember to check out the gift shop!!
Looking to try their brew, but the star of the show was the grilled ahi sandwich that the host recommended. What a monster! Lightly seared, served with a side salad. I've got enough protein on board for a marathon!
Huge variety of beers, so I got a flight to check them out. I'm a weird IPA snob, so my reactions may not be typical, but my favorites were:
Gavroche:French red ale, 7.4%: orange color, candied fruit aromas and flavors, very long lasting. ****
Hazy sculpin: 7%, Galaxy and Nelson hops: malty aromas, very creamy, medium amber color, smooth finish. ***
Fun lunch. Highly recommended.
We're either at the indoor bar for a game or our favorite on the outside patio. Only downside is it's easier to catch a USC (booo) game here than it is a SDSU game (especially basketball ball). This drives us bonkers bc it's an SD brewery. Otherwise, great place to catch a great IPA or rotating/seasonal draft.
Beer was great, of course. I ordered a Cobb salad, eeeesh. The chicken was extra dry.
We are from WI and we are kinda craft beer snobs so we were excited to stop in here. 😅
Honestly, we weren't that impressed with their beer, but the food was good! We got a flight of their Sculpin ipas. Meh. We liked thr grapefruit version the best.
Delicious food, great service, friendly staff and we didn't even have to wait. Kid friendly too! The beer flight was an awesome choice to sample the variety of beers they make, which is a lot! It was all tasty and enjoyable.
Cool place and Noisy planes. 😂

This is a chill space to hangout for beer and other drinks. I mainly drink the beer, but did try the Kombucha this time and it was great. Ballast Point beer is very solid and they have a few fun different beers: like curry cayenne stoutand it was good! I've been a few times now and enjoy coming back.
The patio area is a nice touch, but the airplanes fly right over it and are quite loud.
Excellent food! We had the catch of the day, which was a pan crusted Mahi Mahi with mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. So good!!!
This brewery used to be my favorite for a decade. They got my wife into IPA’s. The quality of beers has sadly gone down so much in recent years. I can walk to this place and unfortunately have to skip it now because the beer is sub par. If you’re in the area, go to Burgeon instead or North Park Brewing or Pure Project for people who still make good beer.
Nice place. They only brew small batch stuff here. The rest of their beer is brewed off site.
Comprehensive and detailed beer list, kind service, great ambience.
