The food is average for the price
The atmosphere is good
Service is disappointing. We had a reservation made yet we had to wait about 20 mins for our table. Then one of the servers pulled 2 chairs from our table for another party without addressing us at all. Then they brought the check without a pen so we had to wait for our waiter longer just to sign our check to get out.
All to get the parking lot to find out that they only validate parking for 60 minutes?!
It wouldn’t have been a problem but I feel like we would’ve not been there for more than the hour if we were seated on time and had slightly more attentive service.
Just s negative experience overall.

We had a group of five the appetizers were OK. The kebab was better than the appetizers. However, the service was extremely bad. We had a lady waitress who had a really bad attitude and bad vibe, kind of ruined our whole dinner and tried to opt charges for everything we haven’t complained about her and they didn’t even change the waiter. We will not be going back to this restaurant. It’s a very bad experience. There are much better restaurants that serve better food.

Amazing food as always! The meat is so tender and flavorful - we call it “dessert meat” it's SO good!
The food is always delicious, and service was impeccable. Since their portions are so large, wait staff should mention this to guests.
The restaurant is modern and well decorated. The service is friendly and very helpful. The "worlds best chicken is really good." I had a chicken stew with pomegranate which had an amazing flavor. The saffron rice accompanying it was also excellent. The baklava desert we shared was also excellent. A great discovery in San Diego Gaslamp district.
We had dinner here recently. Incredibly friendly staff and awesome food. You can easily share dishes as they are large! Worth a visit to have a great dinner

Phenomenal food and service. Highly recommend the pomegranate stew and their beef and chicken. The dips were fantastic as well, especially the eggplant one. Great meal and vibe inside the restaurant.

The food is overpriced, and they add a 20% gratuity for no real reason.

The food was very average and nothing special. Unfortunately, the hostess’s attitude was strange and unwelcoming; she was rude to us, which negatively affected the overall experience. I hope more attention is given to customer service.

I recently dined at this restaurant with a friend, and I have mixed feelings about the experience. Right off the bat, a 20% service charge was added to our bill but we were a group of two, which left me questioning whether this is standard practice for all guests.service was terrible.

There were 7 in our party and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals and the servings were more than enough. Service couldn’t have been better. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We love eating here. The food is always delicious and they are so kind. We split a couple plates - the Adas Polo and Salmon. The leftovers are so good too!!

Bandar in the Gaslamp Quarter is an elegant spot for Persian food and a strong choice for a relaxed weekday dinner. The dining room was quiet during my visit, which made it easy to enjoy conversation and the upscale atmosphere.
The rack of lamb (Shish Lik) was very tasty, tender, and well-seasoned, living up to the restaurant’s reputation for high-quality lamb and generous portions. Service was polished and attentive without being intrusive, matching the fine-dining feel that many guests highlight.
Overall, Bandar delivers flavorful, well-executed Persian classics in a comfortable downtown setting, and the experience earns a solid 4-star rating.

I have celiac disease and must eat gluten free for my health. I have to share an AWESOME experience I had at Bandar last night! I emailed before I went and felt comfortable when they answered all my questions about dining safely. The server said everything but the bread and desserts was GF. The table Ordered hummus and he offered me cucumbers without me even asking (I don’t eat legumes so I declined). I am also DF and he let me know the saffron rice had butter so they left that off my plate. We had no idea of HUGE the portions would be!!! I will definitely be going back!
