Bar policy is to hold your license and a credit card to drink. They don’t disclose this policy until after you order. Yeah, no.

This place is definitely a hit at night!

It's busy during sports season but also very nice atmosphere to be around 😄

Horrible service, and rude greeters and bouncers now. They will not let you in if you don’t have ID. It doesn’t say anywhere they are a 21+ restaurant and yet they demand you have an ID even if you sit on the patio, just to eat. Been eating here for years and suddenly they say this “has always been the policy”. Apparently ID is required just to eat a meal.

If you're in gas lamp, this is a staple of the bar scene! Mornings, lunch, dinner and dance. They've been great since I've moved to SD in 2014 and I still keep on coming here. They got a build your own bloody mary in the mornings, they play foot ball on Sundays, the food and drinks are great here.

Buffalo chicken Flatbread and the Barleymac, can't go wrong! Upscale sports bar, open concept, good music. Even had our East coast team playing on a couple of the tvs! The seats with the short backs are super comfortable

I was told by a friend that I needed to do here. I did it and I’m so glad I did. Amazing food and drinks. I had the Ron Burgandy which is their take on an Old Fashioned and it was delicious! Also had the Bourbon BBQ burger which was awesome. Lots of TVs on for all the Saturday college football games. Service was outstanding. I can wait to go back and try all the other things. I just missed brunch so I have more reasons to return.

Over the past year, Barleymash has become more than just a restaurant, it’s been a Sunday ritual for my friends and I. It’s a place to unwind. From the moment you walk in, the energy is warm, inviting, and effortlessly lively without ever feeling chaotic.

The food is consistently outstanding. Every dish, whether it’s a perfectly executed brunch favorite, the indulgent Steak Dinner, or a perfectly cooked burger, reflects the attention to detail, creativity, and genuine care. The drinks are equally impressive, with a rotating selection of local beers and well-crafted cocktails that always hit the spot.

What truly sets Barleymash apart, though, is the staff. A special shoutout is owed to the Sunday Bartenders, their professionalism, friendliness, and effortless ability to keep the vibe upbeat have made every Sunday amazing. They’re the heartbeat of the experience and deserve every bit of recognition. Every visit, they balance professionalism with friendliness, creating a space where you feel welcome and genuinely taken care of. The ambiance, the live music, the crowd, the communal energy, never fails to lift your spirits, making it the perfect spot to spend some time.

Barleymash isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a cornerstone of the Gaslamp experience. To anyone reading this, treat yourself. It’s a gem in every sense of the word.

Came here to watch my college team. Most bars open at 10, and my game started at 9am. So this was perfect. They have lots of TVs and a nice open layout. Food and drinks were very good and the bartender was great. Prices are about average for a sports bar. Ill be back!

Prices on menu don’t match what the bill says. Charged an extra $1 because the liquor I got was “neat” instead of “shot form”. Another person at our table was brought the wrong meal and had to wait even longer for the correct meal to be brought and no sort of discount offered.

Food was very good. Super friendly staff and nice atmosphere. We did get a draft beer that was bad (dirty line), but they took care of it without incident.

If you want to skip long lines going to the place everyone in their mama goes, i recommend this place. Low covercharge, cool AC, GREAT drinks.

If you don’t give tip they just put half of the alcohol. Maybe USA owners must pay their bartenders as required so they are not required tipps on a 23 dollar vodka resbull.
