The first bite reminded me of the tacos. My mom makes it home so I will definitely be coming back to this place. Got the Pastor and asado and they asked if I wanted beans with it which was not something I typically get offered, but I did try it and it was a tasty addition. Also the selections of pickled onions and salsa was awesome. Really chill spot near barrio Logan and the people were friendly.

I liked the meats would recommend the only downfall i didn't really care for was that they cook the tortillas too much making them crunchy instead of having them as soft tortilla tacos maybe they should change the tortillas to yellow not white tortillas that would be alot better because all my tacos were kinda crunchy. I'm picky when it comes to tripas so I can say they were pretty decent here as well as the cabeza meat I'd recommend. The salsas are all good. The red salsa is a creeper doesn't have much flavor but the spiciness is there people watch out. Tacos were 3.25 but for tripas or other special meat it's 3.75 they accept card cash or zelle

Alright, so I rolled up to Barrio Street Tacos late night 15 minutes before they closed with reasonably high hopes—because, let’s be honest, the bar for a good taco truck isn’t that high.

If you’ve got well-seasoned meat, fresh tortillas, and a little bit of love in the execution, you’re already ahead of the game.

I went in with a solid spread:

— Asada + Chorizo Burrito 🌯
— 4 x Al Pastor Tacos 🌮
— 1 x Carnitas Sincronizada

The total cost was $39.

Let’s start with the good—these folks know how to season their meat. The asada and chorizo in the burrito? A respectable combo.

The burrito was a solid B+ by San Diego standards.

The al pastor tacos were the best tasting.

Easily an A.

The carnitas sincronizada was... MEH.

It was too greasy, and the meat was too fatty.

I'd give it a C-

The service was friendly, and the salsa bar was mostly gone because it was almost closing time.

Overall, Barrio Street Tacos is a solid choice if you’re in the area and need a quick taco fix—and it's likely way better if you go during lunch/dinner hour instead of going during closing time like me.

Would I come back? Sure.

But would I go out of my way? Probably not.

Also, stick to getting Tacos because that's their strong suit.

It's worth trying for sure.

P.S. I also experienced a mild upset stomach the next morning that I normally don't experience with other taco shops in San Diego.
