This place is awesome! Even with their condensed menu everything we've had, has been spot on. We first tried the chicky chicky parm parm, then the Italian stallion and the cheese sandwich. This is truly a gem of San Diego! Service is fantastic as well! I don't think you could be disappointed with anything they offer! Thanks for the great food and service!

Stopped in for a sweet, cool treat while in San Diego for business. Had a tasty little cup of raspberry gelato and it definitely hit the spot on a hot day! Great customer service and friendly staff! They were also offering to-go sangria. I so wish I had gone back for some sangria! Will definitely stop by again on my next visit.

Don't miss the spot for takeout if you want perfect prepared food, fresh ingredients and a nice sangria to go! The chef and team did a great job! Order the pizza of the day! We had eggplant purée, grapes and prosciutto pizza! Oh mama! The caprese salad so so fresh! Great spot to visit in San Diego!

This place is in the heart of downtown on the corner broadway and 6th across from the courtyard Marriott. Cool ambience but super relaxed vibe. Unfortunately when I visited, twice now, they had no dine in option due to safety measures related to the current corona pandemic. The staff of two that helipad me were super accommodating and friendly. With my positive impression of the ambience and the staff the food is excellent making it stand out as not only a cool, hip, chill new place to hangout but one with quality food. After two pick up orders BIGA is now the top of my takeout list for downtown San Diego. I strongly recommend the in house made tiramisu. I would say it is one of the best I have had outside of Italy. It is yummy .

Definitely one of my favorite Italian restaurants now in the city! It was a weekend when I decided to eat some Italian food. I bumped into this restaurant. I got captivated by the ambiance of their restaurant. It feels like in I'm Italy. The food that they served was really delicious. The crews were very friendly. I fell in love with this place now.

Although the menu is currently trimmed-down, I look forward to enjoying another set of delicious salads: the caprese, with optional incredible prosciutto, and the Chef's Whim--wow!! The pizzas were both wonderful, with their thin crusts and chosen toppings. When the restrictions are lifted, I will be heading back to Biga for the Salumi plate, where their porchetta awaits. Until then, those salads and pizzas still tempt me to return for curbside pick-up.

We saw that Biga has just re-opened for takeout. We ordered a Caesar, one of the vegetarian lasagna kits, a tiramisu and a quart of the sangria red. Outstanding! A single order of the Caesar salad and tiramisu are plenty for two. The vegetarian lasagna kit can easily feed four or five. The cream sauce on the lasagna is so good. I'm not used to freshly-made pasta in my lasagna and I think it's going to ruin me for anything else in the future. Just the right texture. The mushroom duxcelle (I have never used that word previously and probably never will again... I had to look it up) - but it was creamy and light and so flavorful with fresh mushroom. And the sangria is something special. We tried the red because it is supposed to be less sweet than the white sangria. Tasty. So we're planning to back next week to get one of the pizzas, another salad and tiramisu along with another quart of sangria. This isn't just takeout, it's fine dining.

this place is so under the radar it hurts me. quality of the pasta is superb (as good or better then cucina's, or any of the other high end pasta places in town). Pizza is incredible (on par with my favorite neopolitano place in Hillcreast). Appetizers are on point and the main's do not disappoint. Always get dessert. Owner/Chef trained in Italy and has a unique story which he is always willing to share because he loves food, cooking , and people that much. I have so much respect for him and his passion for food, just awe inspiring. If we are going to downtown SD for anything we eat here. 6 stars if I could give it.

We love going to Biga or bringing Biga pasta home to make in our kitchen. The staff, pasta, prosciutto, and wine (half price bottles on Mondays), always make for a great experience. The only downside about this place is the noise, because it seems every surface is concrete or glass, the place gets very loud. We like an energetic atmosphere, but it is a hard place to bring parents or anywhere who doesn't hear well.

Excellent Italian restaurant in Gaslamp run and managed by quality people. The pastas are first-rate as San Diego goes, and the velvety Wood-Fired Braised Lamb Shank is an excellent dinner option. While nibbling on BIGA's intriguing semolina-based bread, start with the charcuterie plate and you won't regret it.
