First-time visit and it was a fantastic evening. From the greeting by the hostess to the wait staff throughout, all eventually topped off with a delicious meal, it was a memorable night.
We wanted a lovely French meal to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary, and Bistro du Marche did not disappoint. We had an outdoor table on a perfect evening that began with escargot, salmon, and scallops, and finished with a surprise gratis dessert - Meyer's lemon tart with fresh berries and raspberry sorbet. Delicious!!!.....I'm still thinking about that dessert!
To start the duck liver pate was superb then we continued with the DUCK'L ORANGE with green peppercorns with potatoes and greens which was delicious and a excellent preparation Highly recommend
Excellent French cuisine, very well served in a handsome environment. The restaurant was great for years, but we noticed a downturn a year or 2 ago. However, the restaurant is now again excellent. Classic cuisine plus lighter culinary options. Worth the price point. Recommend highly.
IMO the best French food in the San Diego area! Chef Diot has built good-sized menu with great traditional French choices, such as lamb, filet mignon coq au vin, and Mediterranean seabass; and rabbit, waygu "clod" steak; plus an individual caviar service for $75; yes! Mussels, pate, swiss cheese puffs; and so much more! they also feature a nice, tight, well-priced wine list and full bar as well! The service staff does a great job; from the exceptional Maitre D, to the host staff, servers, bar staff, et al. Finally, the decor is bright, open, and has more than a touch of elegance... Don't miss this restaurant!
Both of the dishes we ordered were outstanding. I always love the mushroom ravioli. My husband tried a new salad with tomatoes, barrata, and bracela. Both were delicious.
The food here was delicious and well-prepared, with the cheese puffs standing out as my absolute favorite item. The vibe was lively—maybe a bit loud—but still enjoyable. I appreciated the menu size; it was just right, with enough variety without feeling overwhelming. One thing that really set this place apart for me was the comfortable chairs. This might seem small, but for me, it's huge, and it made the whole experience more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Our server seemed rushed from the moment we sat down, got two parts of our order wrong, and wasn't attentive enough. This took away from what otherwise could have been a stellar experience, and I consider that unacceptable in a restaurant of this caliber. Ask ChatGPT
Excellent French cuisine! From soup; cold tomato like with watermelon to rabbit. Can you find these menu items anywhere else? I don't think so!
Amazing dinner experience, perfect date night!
A true hidden gem in the city. The decor is modern and stylish, and the food is absolutely phenomenal. I had the pan-seared scallops and my friend tried the filet mignon — both dishes were cooked to perfection. The cocktails were also impressive, especially the house special with basil and gin. It’s rare to find such attention to detail in both food and service.

We went last night for a birthday with my foodie girlfriends. We all ordered different entrees and they were all amazing. Our waiter Steven was very attentive and took care of every detail. Great wine! We will definitely be back. Thank you for making our evening so special. ❤️
Perfect! We were looking for an evening of French cuisine and they delivered. We tried seven dishes. Everything was outstanding! We were also very impressed with the waitstaff. They all exhibited a high level of professionalism. Their pastry chef deserves high recognition as well. The restaurant is very worthy of their recent “Best French” award.
Fantastic service and food. We celebrated our daughter's 18th birthday and she enjoyed every minute. One complaint - please start using duck fat to fry your potatoes - peanut oil is not up to par with your restaurants reputation.
Incredible food and service. Refined and sophisticated but not stuffy Classic bistro menu.
La experiencia fue buena aunque solicitamos pan sin gluten y no tenían, consideramos que un restaurante de ese nivel debería tener algunas opciones de pan o galletas sin gluten
