Service and atmosphere were nice. Very prompt and friendly staff. Menu selection was a bit limited. Duck was delicious, Rack of Lamb was mediocre at best. Wine selection is good but about 3x retail. Most restaurants typical are around 2-2.5x retail.

We love this place and continue to go there because the food is consistently good and prices quite reasonable considering the offerings - we had the Wednesday special steak dinner. The only comment I would make is that the little round toasts on top of the Escargot dish get drenched and oily, so may be skip those ??

This was a serious disappointment. There was no recognition of our anniversary. (By recognition, I mean anyone saying Happy anniversary.) The table we were given wasn't great either, but doable. The appetizers, escargot, and pate were good, but nothing outstanding. The problem was that we sat for at least twenty minutes before we were told that the huge table was put in just before our order was put in, so there was a delay. We were fine with that, even though the delay in informing us was questionable, but the reality was that meant we were going to be waiting at least another twenty minutes. We were not informed of that. Forty plus minutes between appetizers and our meal were unacceptable. This is where an offer of a glass of champagne or a small dish should have happened. I've been offered (without prompting) free desert in Chili's for much less, so the fact that a high-end restaurant just left us sitting there with zero follow-up was a real issue. I got the duck confit, good, but I have had better. My husband got the duck breast, and it was so chewy that we probably should have sent it back. Overall, the entire vibe was that if you weren't a frequent customer or a local, you weren't really welcome. We'll be taking that to heart and skipping it going forward.

A wonderful dinner with terrific service and helpful wine recommendations. The appetizers (mushroom tart and grilled figs) were the highlight-- complex, multi-dimensional dishes that were delicious. Entrees were also wonderful. Service was timely, attentive, helpful and friendly. We do not live here, but will try to find a way to return.

Every plate at Bistro du Marche is always delicious. This is my favorite restaurant in San Diego.

Simply put: outstanding. The most authentic French cuisine I've had in San Diego. Food quality, presentation and menu selection is first rate. Good selection of wines (CA, AUS & French) at reasonable prices.

Excellent meal and service. We visit often and enjoy the fresh produce and the Dover Sole is excellent

Exceptional dining experience! Our evening on Thursday, September 4th, was truly memorable, thanks in large part to the outstanding Maitre D'. He was exceptionally welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. My partner's steak was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating a wonderful atmosphere for our night out. We're already looking forward to returning soon!

I had the lapin, rabbit rolled with stuffing and wrapped with bacon, and thought it was reasonably good, maybe a 7 out of 10. My wife had the steak frites. Unfortunately the steak had been requested to be medium rare but was overdone and the fries were a 4 out of 10, i.e. thick, mushy and not crispy - disappointing. Judging from my meal, I would have given the restaurant 4 stars but if you are a French restaurant and you can't turn our really good steak frites, you get 3 stars from me.

Fabulous service! My server and the chef were so concerned and observant with my dietary restrictions. It was a refreshing experience. I received a lovely meal that not only looked and tasted good, but was good for me. I ordered the branzino and it was beautifully prepared--fresh and delicious. My friend had the coq au vin which they enjoyed as well.

Food is top notch. The octopus appetizer is amazing! The steak was a bit tough for the money. They brought us a gluten rich plate immediately after we requested gluten free. I do like this place and will return & recommend

First-time visit and it was a fantastic evening. From the greeting by the hostess to the wait staff throughout, all eventually topped off with a delicious meal, it was a memorable night.

We wanted a lovely French meal to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary, and Bistro du Marche did not disappoint. We had an outdoor table on a perfect evening that began with escargot, salmon, and scallops, and finished with a surprise gratis dessert - Meyer's lemon tart with fresh berries and raspberry sorbet. Delicious!!!.....I'm still thinking about that dessert!
