Max and Alejandro defined the service here. Not only were they attentive and kind; they went out of their way to make this a superb experience.

The restaurant itself is amazing and quite chic. Do not miss this.

Delicious food, good cocktails, great service, super cute unique artistic vibe. But too loud, and waayyyyyy overpriced for portions. Bordering on insulting.

Black Radish - Opened the door and walked into an Elegant yet casual interior. The vibe was warm and the staff very kind, accommodating, and friendly. The menu is unique, not the typical items that appear on almost all restaurant menus. First off were the Biscuits. Excellent texture, wonderful flavor and served with a soft herbed butter. Absolutely Amazing. Next up the Coconut soup, Delicious with a hint of spice from thinly sliced Serrano peppers on top and wow! Pure Yum! Following up with the Pappardelle with squash. This dish was perfection. The pasta noodles were cooked perfectly. The flavor of the pasta noodles was delicious and with the sauce and squash it was unbelievably delicious. One of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. The food is amazing and full of delicious flavors. High quality ingredients expertly prepared.
2 criticisms however;
* The portions are ridiculously small with a steep price tag
* The bathroom is part of the main dining room so when one walks into the bathroom those sitting at certain tables can view the interior of the bathroom - I find this distasteful.

Unacceptably slow kitchen (two-star deduction). We ordered the prefixe four-course (promptly and all of our order was put in at the beginning), and we were there two hours forty minutes from start to getting our bill at the end. Many courses had 30-minute waits. I can't overlook that when our party size was two. Food was mostly good, though there were some miscues here and there on temper, salt, and sauces (please note it is small plates, which I knew going in, however). Having eaten all over the world and followed Tom Sietsema for years, I believe that at this price point, the kitchen needs to get food out in a timely manner, no excuses.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Black Radish, and it was a perfect experience. The food, service, and ambiance combines the quality and creativity of fine dining with a relaxed, unstuffy atmosphere. We did the tasting menu with the wine pairing, and it was incredible. It’s not a meal; it’s a narrative with multiple acts. We loved it and will be back to try their fall seasonal menu. Thank you!

Last night I had one of the best dining experiences in a long time. The wagyu ribeye was cooked to perfection—tender, rich, and absolutely delicious. For dessert, the peach ice cream was light and refreshing.

The real highlight, though, was the bartender. He was friendly, attentive, and clearly passionate about what he does. He let me try a bourbon blueberry muddled cocktail he had created, and it was so, so good—even though I don’t usually like bourbon. At the end of the meal, he surprised me with a bonbon that was hands-down the best I’ve ever had.

Outstanding food, drinks, and service—I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Came to Black Radish for the first time to celebrate our anniversary, after hearing good things about it from friends. We had a wonderful meal and the service was excellent. All 3 cocktails we tried were amazing, and the wine list had a lot of surprising and unique options.

We each had the Prix fixe menu (4 courses) plus two of the bar snacks. The “fries & caviar” off the snacks menu was incredible, as were the oysters. From the current menu, the melon soup, the Guinea hen, and the chocolate semifreddo were my favorites, but it was all delicious. We are typically big eaters and both left feeling full.

Our server Alexandra was wonderful throughout our whole meal, and service from the whole staff was incredibly thoughtful and welcoming.

We sat at a comfortable table by the windows and really enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant.

Looking forward to returning soon!

Food - portions were small and food was mediocre. For example, the salad was literally half a plum, a beet and one and a half golden beets with 2 shavings of cheese for over $20. Octopus was about $30 for one tentacle. Mains were also subpar, small, and almost $50 each. For $98 each for the tasting menu, we left pretty hungry; we actually saw another couple who dined here at a taco shop down the street after.
Service - while our server was very nice, service was pretty slow. At least 20 minutes between each dish.
Ambiance - cute, a little tight
Drinks - wine list was good and appropriately priced.

Go to Callie and do the tasting. You’ll get much more food, better prepared, better service, and at a lower price. And you won’t leave hungry.

The restaurant itself it real pretty, and in a hidden corner in North Park. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks and Food excellent. We decided on the 4 course prix fixe - the pork appetizer was the star, as well as the monkfish entree and the panna cotta. just writing about it makes me wanna go back. Hope we go back soon to celebrate another special occasion.

I have a relative working here which brought me in, so hopefully I am not too biased. I am not a foodie, but do like an occasional splurge for quality dining. Thursday evening was slow for them, so service might have been better than usual. They had great suggestions with a laid back approach. The cocktails were phenomenal. I was able to sample three from our table. That clear margarita was a bit spicy, but paired well with the meat dish. The pork belly starter was crispy and tender, a must. I enjoyed the cold soup way more than I thought I would. Good luck parking though.

Truly delicious eats. Might be the best upscale restaurant in San Diego. Portions are small, but still my favorite fine dining restaurant.

Nice atmosphere (tables are a little too close together), decent service, good food, but Very expensive for what you get. $380 for 2 people (including tip). We ordered a la cart and had 7 cocktails. I left not full and not buzzed.

Elevated elegant flavors in each dish. Cozy yet modern atmosphere. Perfect for a classy date night. Would recommend: prix fix menu: beets and plum salad, pork belly, wagu, pasta, and peach cobbler.

Sadly we are pretty disappointed in the Black Raddish. After hearing raving review from a friend and reading great ones online, we decided to give it a shot. We chose the Prix Fix menu which was $98 per person. Normally, we wouldn’t have an issue paying this but almost everything we ordered was no where close to being worth the cost.

The clarified margarita was too spicy so I switched it for a regular marg in which the house tequila was nasty. We started with the pork belly (recommended by waiter and reviews) which was pretty good and the squid ink shrimp rice which was not. It had a very earthy flavor. Next we ordered the melon soup (very mediocre) and beets and plums which was great.

For our third course we ordered the duck special with a goat and cow milk cheese risotto which truly tasted similar to a child-like Mac n cheese with horrible flavor. The duck meat itself was great, but the accompanying side was far less than great. We also ordered the lamb chops with pickles asparagus - fatty meat and nothing special.

The only things I’d say were worth the cost were the desserts which were FANTASTIC!! We loved the semifreddo and panda cotta - both incredible and would order again.

Overall, the place had cute vibes and so much potential, but the cost was NOT worth the flavor of dishes or sizes that we received. Total, for 2 people, we spent $400 with 1 drink each and the prix fix menu. Was definitely expecting way better flavor and portion sizes for that cost - especially in this economy.

The best part was the free bonbons at the end… was really expecting higher quality and flavor for the price. We are very particular about where we go out to eat and this was only average.
